Motorcycles, random projects? What are you working on over the winter months post up!

I wish I had something cool this year. Just installing a natural gas furnace in my garage and out fitting my new shop for next winters project.

Have to get some pics, but I have a couple of projects.

I have a '58 Convertible beetle that I'm chopping, throwing onto a '69 IRS pan (so it will technically be a '69, but a custom '58 body). I bought a '69 Standard that I was planning on using the pan from, but it turned out to be all original and never been hit, so now it's going to be a driver for a while. But I have to build an engine for it, do some other work to get it back to road condition and then drive the hell out of it.

I've bought a couple of motorcycles over the last several months, an IT450 dirt bike. I need to get some plastic for it, a new tank and maybe throw a piston it, get it ready for spring. I also bought an '89 FZR600 with a broken sprocket/clutch actuator cover. So with some work and cleaning out the carbs, it will be my nice day driver, especially if someone wants my patina'd '69 and throws me some cash.

My wife's '76 Vert is getting a new engine/trans. Building a 1776 Fuel Injected at it and a trans that doesn't have a worn out nose cone and syncro's.

Building a wood burner for the garage, insulating the walls of the garage and throwing up an entertainment system for the car keeper so I put on a movie, throw in a couple of logs and crank up the radio. Hell, if I make it too nice, I may just sit back and drink all day in the winter weekends.

At that point, I may have almost the same list for next winter. :rawr:

Cleaning out my dad's shed so he has room to actually do something in it now that he's retired. And putting in my own special little corner for my mechanic tool box, air compressor, and room for future tube bender and welder.

Go with a light color. My dad's boat is bedlined and painted dark grey to match the outer hull, and it gets really hot in the summer sun.

I think I'm gonna go with black but I'm planning on putting a floor in so I won't be walking on the black directly. Its more for sound deadening and easy clean up.

The front deck is usually what gets me. I burn my knees when pulling up anchor or putting down and pulling up the trolling motor. Anyway, it was just a thought.

My winter project started a little early but I redid a wall in my son's room and decided to get rid of the popcorn ceiling while I'm at it. I'll finish texturing that, then painting, then redoing the decorations in his room, then repainting the "toy" room, removing the popcorn ceiling and texturing that, possibly building shelves for toys in there. Repainting the whole interior of my house, swapping furniture from our original master bedroom to the "new" one that is closer to the baby's room. I need to deep clean my garage and I could always get rid of the popcorn ceiling in there too. I've got all kinds of honey dos.

Yeah I hear ya. I've heard it does get pretty hot. When I do the front deck I'll probably carpet it. For now I just want to get it done and in the water...lol This has been one of those lingering projects...
