So as I was searching around on my hard drive, I came upon this. Anyone know who this is, or if it's someone on here?

Did some looking around on tnx, it isn't a "true" ladder. The guy the X belongs to was designing an exo and had started at the back and was working forward.

P&P happened to mention designing a ladder that did not involve the hatch at all. I bet it would probably be along these lines.

That would be awesome. I like this design but I don't like how the bottoms are open....it'd be better if there was a plate at the bottom that matched up with the bumper

Easy now no unintentionally stealing mine and Fauss's idea.

Hey you didn't post your idea....so it's mine....you best not be stealing my idea.....

Also
STEAL ALL THE IDEAS!!!!!!

Nope sure didn't we were being sneaky and not putting it out there.

Agreed, although I don't steal. The Army trained me in the art of Tactical Acquisitions.

Dis haha

We were talking about it at nXm.

But it doesn't too much matter who's idea because in the end they will all look different

Yeah although I hadn't seen this pic and it definitely helped me out planning wise.

I like the side ladder portion, but like the fact that it protects the rear window more. Gives it the Land Rover Defender Safari look. Unfortunately it's on one side.

This was blueberry's rig (Joey P) before he got the blue 2012 Pro4 which he brought to Moab last year and this year. I believe he is from MA...? He's been on here a few times, but not often.

That's not Joey's old rig, it was white (everything that is on the blue one now, bar the rear bumper, was swapped right off the white one). I think the owner of this X knows Joey in some way though.

Yea I love the concept, I think it would be great option to a bumper as removable. Like it could just bolt up to the bottom section then bolt to the rack... someone with fab skills give it a go!

I'm looking at getting a double swing-away bumper made (similar to Casper's old bumper) but I want to have it wrap around and eliminate the corner plastics so I may try to incorporate the removable side ladder idea. I have been playing with this idea for a while. The only thing is... I know this is not going to be cheap when it's all said and done. I'm thinking something like $1100.

I'm thinking something like $1100.

Sounds a little lowball to me if you're including the side ladders. Second gen Hefty bumper with a single swing arm is $885 on its own, bar shipping and powdercoat. Just adding a high lift mount brings it over the $900 range. I'm pretty sure their dual arm 2nd gen bumpers reach into the $1000 range; their Bronco bumper with all the fixin's (dual swing arms, jerry can holder, high lift mount, receiver hitch, powdercoat) is nearly $1800 before shipping. I would say a side ladder would be worth at least $120 on its own.

A more conservative estimate, IMO, is probably $1600-$2000 with the ladders included.

The guy quoted me $1050 raw, $1200 powdercoated, for a double swing away that would hold 3 jerry cans on the left and the tire on the right (passenger side). Now, that did not include a highlift mount because he wasn't sure there would be room because of the tire size I requested (37") but if he could swing it ( ;) ) it would probably be a little more as well. I planned on painting it myself since that is easy to touch up and I could ensure the paint matched everything else I've got going. I may have low balled at $1100, yeah, I see that now. So maybe $1300 with ladder? Either way, I am checking into it and hopefully will have a more solid answer pretty soon, NLT mid Feb. And I am only wanting the ladder on the passenger side for now, but both sides would be pretty damn cool and, for some reason, never crossed my mind until your post.
