Since the hunting board is incredibly slow, I thought I'd post something.
I'm going to try turkey hunting for the first time this season (starts April 1). Just got my tags yesterday and already have a gun, some shells, and what should be a couple decent places to hunt.
I know I need good head to toe camo because of there eyesight. I have a box call, will be getting a slate call, and I might try a diaphragm. May also pick up a few decoys.
Just wanted to see if any of you guys had tips for a first timer. Mainly on how to locate them. I've been told to get an owl or crow locator call and to call at dusk. If any are nearby I may get a call back and be able to find the roosting spot.
