oh nice. wasnt trying to call you out, just wondering what you all had done.

is it driveble yet or in project car purgatory?
Still currently in purgatory. It runs, but......

I started working on the rear fenders over the weekend and managed to destroy my fender rolling tool. Once I get that done it needs exhaust. Then I can drive it.

Example. GM 5.0 v8. Anemic SBC. too much stroke for not enough bore. Couldn't get out of its own way. Why was this even an option when the same Era 350 was available? Yet they're in everything.

one thing i will side with you on is that GM ruined the Detroit 6.5 diesel with bullshiat. solid engine at the core but when GM showhorned it into the trucks, they ufcked up. and its 3 things, the black box for the injector pump, the fuel pump and pump relay, and the vacuum pump to the waste gae that does nothing but sit there and be ufcking stupid.

Movies and shows crack me up. I love good whiskeys. But always seeing these people pound 3+ fingers with no chaser and no flinch or facial movement is hilarious. Especially when it is shiat whiskey 99% of the time.

I dig it. It's either really early 90s or a deuce drive though?

Honest question. Why? They were mechanically garbage, shiat build quality, and the interiors were festivals of plastic death.

Ford and Dodge weren't any better. At least you could talk to and tune the GM EFI. The dealerships were lucky to be able to communicate with the pre-OBD2 Ford stuff.

I agree that the 305 was WAY under square and I think suffered for it but on the whole it's not a bad engine. Maybe not the best option for a heavy duty truck but for a standard 1/2t pickup, not a bad option.

The one in my 89 RS Camaro pulls down high 20mpgs on the interstate with the cruise set and a/c on.

That was only the second year of that body style in the 1 ton. Up till 1991 the Suburban, Blazer and 1 tons were all square bodies. The TBI 454 is a horse and I THINK that's a hydraulic 4L80 and not the 4L80E maybe? Might be mixed up on that.

still a gulf war era truck that will have no MPG lol.

Too true. I can squeeze 15mpg outta mine on the interstate but it's got 298k miles on the poor devil. Gotta run 10W40 dino squeezins to have hot idle oil pressure.

The GMT400 is my favorite body style pick-up. Followed by the 67-72 GM but I needed crew cab with 3 kids.

I've been looking for a 454 truck to buy and do a transplant. Figure I should have the HP to go along with the MPGs. Maybe in the future..
