First Fill-Up (of many)
Just finished fixing the lower rad hose where at the thermostat. Was leaking and dripping onto the belts, squealing like a mofo. Also greased the front end. Also quiet now.
Will have to snowblow again in the morning. 6 inches came down today.

I got to deal with a broken pelvis on the hill this weekend in -28 c weather. Was not fun.

When I tell people I used to race Down Hill Mountain Bikes they say wow that sounds dangerous! But then I explain I was wearing armour, I looked like a character from mad max. the bike has 8+ inches of wheel travel, enough to roll over basketball sized rocks without noticing at speed and most importantly I have hydraulic disk brakes, I can slow down or stop.
Skiers strap waxed boards on their feet and hurl themselves down mountains at ludicrous speeds, no brakes. Skiers are crazy.

I do the down hill thing as well. And I definitely wear more amour biking than when I am skiing/boarding.

Do you guys use pelvic binders to help stabalize it ?

The ones we have are a wide elastic and velcro style. And yes I used them on this one.

I had not seen one of those before.

The ones we have are very basic. Around 8" wide, and the material is like a heavier duty version of a tensor bandage with velcro.
I used ( and still carry one of those) during my deployment in Afghanistan. way easier to use then the SAM pelvic binders and a bit stronger then the ones your describing.
