I am changing the fluid in my M/T and it is currently conventional 75W90 gear oil. I want to switch to synthetic will it harm anything to do a straight swap?

Not at all; you'll get nearly 100% out when you drain. It's only us AT folks that have to worry about the torque converter holding onto nearly half the fluid.

Right depending on who you ask. If the lube is not exclusively GL4 certified it can eat the soft metals (brass) within the transmission.

Fill it a full 5 qt's to insure all the bearings are getting lube.

I use Redline MT90 its a oil that is not only slick but has a little grip to it to aid the shifting process. First thing I did when I bought my truck was install MT90. Shifts so much smoother especially in the winter.

Amazon has the best price online I think.
