I prefer to do them in double sheer, instead of using a spindle. Most of the spindles are 3500 trailer spindles. I have found that it is just cheaper and easier to make your own hinge out of some tubing and bushings.

Just an option instead of using spindles.

I am also looking to build a swing arm. Pics would be appreciated from those that have fabricated their own. Anybody have a "how to" in the works?

Thanks in advance.

Well damn... Lol what happened?

i had a small droop in it when it came unlock and it bent the bolt. the bolt was really hard to swing to even with the bearings and shat. i'm in the works off a new rear bumper, tube/plate combo i'm just trying to figure out if i want to put a tire carrier on it.

That is what mine is like (no picks where I am) but instead of the heims I just used a piece of left over DOM and a couple of bushings that I already had in the garage.

Two hiem joints per side. Cost is like $4 each, latched in the middle. After almost five years they've held up fine with no issues. I have even hit the rear swings on a ledge hard enough to slam the gas can holders into the hatch and snap the latch and still they hold up perfect. I won't ever use a spindle or anything else again. Just another idea thats out of the box in case you want something different. :)

By far one of the coolest bumper/carrier layouts I've seen!
