Thanks guys! As of yesterday my lottery scholarship got revoked because I missed the GPA requirement by .06 points. I'm still going to try to make this happen in the spring, but if not, maybe the summer will have some time for it.

Dude I lost out on a scholarship like that by falling below the minimum number of credit hours required. I was supposed to have 15 and I had 14 one semester and lost out on 600 a semester.

That sucks about your scholarship. I lost a full paid scholarship because my GPA one semester was .07 too low. I know how much that sucks. I hope you get all of that squared away, and I look forward to seeing more progress on your bumper build.

looks good, I actually like the look of the iron bull, but, I think that's the army in me...I like big boxy and tough.

I think combining this idea with RLC's normal bumpers would turn out the sexiest bumper ever....

I'm taking my truck to RLC in APR for him to make a prototype for the GEN II, ill take some pictures for you to help you out with your design.

this is fantastic news sir, we'll expect you to post a build thread on the bumper and post as many pictures as you can get on it ;)

his pricing is fantastically within my modding budget ;)

I thought about tying the sliders into the front bumper via a tube that went alongside the front fender this would keep the damage down in that spot too. But I guess if I'm getting g serious enough to need front fender protection then I will then definitely need a half inch gap. Haha

This is exactly what I am doing. Cutting about 3.5" of fender out and welding in some 2x2. It will tie into the bumper, the sliders and the frame at two spots in the wheel well. A .5" gap, 2" square (sticking 1"-1.5" out from stock fender) should give about an extra inch of up travel for the tires as well, plus you don't have to worry about the tires chewing up your fenders anymore

Mine wasn't going to be that radical SMH, but something along those lines.

Lol sometimes I get excited, it's not that radical and the bracing is pretty much the minimum you could get by with. You don't want to get T-boned and up with a section of tube steel going thru your valve cover

See I was going to use round DOM and do minimal fender trimming. Basically the front part of an exocage lol

You could go with round but I still wouldn't go less than 1.5". So DOM + .5" gap between the fender still = 2" of fender cutting. Unless you were thinking of running the round outside the fender, which would look funky as all get out

See I like the idea of having some steel out there....I if I go that route I'll probably go 2x3 or 2x4, so that it's the same as my sliders...., and have it mate up with the sliders...maybe figure out a wrap around rear bumper and tie the sliders into that around the fender well in the rear too.....I always liked the look of an exo cage ;)
