I'm looking for a decent rear view camera system, and I don't want to replace my fosgate system, at least for quite a while so I would like to find something that is simple to install and not too expensive but not too cheap either.

So anyone have any experiences they'd like to share and if you have one, please post up a pic!

Would like to find something that has night vision capability though.

Ah, OK. I looked at their website. Stuff looks pretty good. I know I've seen cheaper back up cams at truck stops and such. Hell maybe even at Walmart. Those never looked to be very high quality, though.

Yeah, that was who I sent a text to asking about it....so far haven't heard from him since I sent a text asking about it.

Hope he's doing okay though...haven't seen him active lately.

bringing this thread back from the dead

I am getting in on the InSain fab GB and am wondering on a way to be able to hook up my camper with out always having a ground guid helping me out since my wife will most likely be taking care of the little one. so I am wanting to install a back up camera( Preferably a wired unit) with out having to replace the entire head unit of my sterio( I am happy with the stock RF headunit). any recomendations to brands to get/stay away from ?

Well let's see. I have 3 camera's went through 4. I went with anything from $100 dollar up to $300 and I can't say I can tell the difference. The only difference I've noticed with price is the warranty. I did replace my head unit with a dvd player dash since I did not want another gadget in the way cluttering up the dash.

These are the three I went with.
-Forward Facing, Rear View Systems Camera (CC88black, 40 degrees) 6/30/13
-Rear Facing, Rear View Safety Camera (130 degrees) 6/30/13
-Rear Axial Facing, Backup Camera (120 degrees) 6/30/13

I
forget what the Fourth one was but it did not even last the install. I ****ed it up. The thing to keep in mind is that every camera seems to have a different connection type. So I would make sure it comes with a long enough cord. Along with this it is nice when the power is ran through the same cord and powered through the head unit. The biggest question is where are you going to mount it?

This is where I mounted mine.

It is great for backing up into parking spots and seeing if a trailer hitch is lined up but not so great for telling distance to back up once that trailer hitch is close to the ball. Me personal I would want a more downward angle to see from. If you could mount it on the back of the tire or something.
