Rear suspension help

Can anyone recommend a solution to give my stock rear suspension on my 2013 X a little more strength. I seem to bottom out more than I prefer. I also plan on doing some light towing in the future.

Thanks

The quickest fix is to add Timbren bump stops.

You can also add longer shackles and/or AAL.

The AAL stiffens the ride, and hurts articulation which some don't like, where the longer shackles soften the ride and add articulation.

Adjustable Lift Shackles - low cost and easy install.

Add a leaf - increase weight and towing capability, cost slightly more due to u bolts and possible shims. Easy install but more involved than shackles.

Timbren Bumpstops - dulls the sound but youre still buttoning out. Expensive for rubber but very easy to bolt on.

Airbags - cost and install is moderate but this will help you carry and tow more load without buttoming out. Plus its adjustable for your weight.

If you combine any of these options just get some longer shocks.

you can also go with a full leaf pack replacement. something like the Old Man Emu ( OME) by ARB or Alcans. that's the route I ended up going

Initially went with the AAL when the lift was installed, but the 06 X still bottoms out under load, so I'm going to replace the shackles and do a full Alcan leaf replacement. Considered Old Man Emu as well, but Alcan is right in town. :)

I run a Nisstec AAL with . . . some sort of shackle. It's not a stock one, but it's not what everyone else has either.
Does the trick. I noticed it stiffer going over speed bumps, but nothing I wasn't expecting.

For towing I would recommend a full leaf pack replacement or air bags. AAL is cheap and will work in the short term but won't help for the long term. (As always this is just my .02, I had the AAL, now I have a full pack from Alcan. YMMV)

The big question is what do you consider "light" towing. Also are you planning on off-roading your X much? Are you planning or do you have a suspension lift?
