Radflo .. Now with A.I.R.

Anyone here send their Radflos back for a factory rebuild? I'm about to in the next couple of weeks and hope it's not too much of a down time -- most have said it's about a week.

So I finally sent them back for the rebuild. Took about just over a week with shipping there and back, Radflo was easy to deal with. Glenn and I would just email back and forth when needed -- his response time was great.

Cost break down:
  • Shipping to Fountain Valley California - $42
  • Seal Cap 63.5mm Short - $35(x1)
  • 2.5 Shock Service - $85(x2)
  • Spherical Bearing COM 8T - $12(x1)
  • Shaft Bump Stop 7/8" - $4(x1)
  • 1/2" Mounting Bolt - $5(x2)
  • Labor - $30(x1)
  • Needle Valve SAE #4 - $5(x2)
  • Return shipping - $49

Grand Total = $362

I'm thinking that they either replaced the adjusting and locking rings for free or that those items are apart of the service fee. Reason I think these is because they are brand new (mine were galled) and there is no charge for them.

I can't wait to get these back on the truck!

Those look a lot nicer in picture #2!

Post up review on the ride after the rebuild.
Mine are 3 yrs old now, but still seem to work fine and don't look bad.

Normal wear is so gradual, you don't typically notice unless you blow a seal. On most of my trucks, when I finally change them out, always amazed on how much better they ride again.

Will do.

I had them rebuilt because I blew one at GONE9 while on Kokopelli Trail. I had a local ATV shop rebuild them as best as they could (meaning replacing any seals they could, tightening any fasters, recharging the) but it wasn't even a 50% rebuild. They rode like shiat not too long after and just progressively worse. Finally had the time to contact Radflo and as about a rebuild.

Glenn said they weren't too bad but the internals did show signs of heavy wear. Again, this is because I blew one of them out on a 100+ mile trail after two years of abuse. If I hadn't blown them I'm sure they wouldn't have been to worse than new.

I really can't wait to reinstall them. I'm running OEM coilovers with ADF spacers right now and with all the added weight, the ride sucks.

Now with after install report (A.I.R.)

Finally got around to installing these again this past week, man what a difference! Forgot how smooth my truck can be, how much it doesn't roll into corners, and how much it doesn't nose dive when breaking. I also got about an extra .75 of lift out of it to compensate for the bumper and skids. It was definitely worth it.

That's awesome! FV is pretty near to me. So without shipping I could save close to a hunny?

Easily.

And probably more if they aren't too worse for the wear -- mine were pretty bad.

Mark has paid the most for a rebuild as far as I know.
