I know I can't be the only one out there... at least mine is staying hidden for the most part but if you have the same problem with you paint job I want to see it!

Racerxxl if you see this please tell me again what exactly happened with out paint jobs? I know yours is coming off big time on the fenders.

Also I know its a 13 year old car so its going to have some wear.

The stuff on the hood could be almost anything Aaron where it looks like a circle of cracks. The vast majority of the problem with yours and mine is the places you see white, the white is primer, is where the paint has actually separated from the primer.

Years of talking to painters about it has lead us to believe the following and it makes sense. About 10-12 years ago the EPA mandated that all the auto manufacturers switch to water based paints, and other compounds I don't recall right now, in car paints to meet new emissions standards in automotive painting. As they were perfecting the process the paint just would not adhere to the primer worth a damn. So as a result you have these cars that the paint did not stick to the primer. From what I have seen, I may be wrong, for whatever reason the blue cars seem to be more prone to the problem. Also notice that it tends to peel more on surfaces that get full sun all the time.....vertical facing surfaces.

Mine is worse then yours. Fenders, tops of all the doors, gas door, and the roof but not on my hood. Mine will probably be totally repainted this fall. Also mine did not start to peel until about 2.5 years ago but once it started it progressed rapidly.
