That looks oddly familiar.... almost like they ripped it straight off of someone that custom built one. Maybe people doing custom work should patent their builds lol.

It does look good though. I suppose if I was interested in a tube bumper that would be a nice one. I agree with the black photo shopping though.

There is really only so much that you can do to make a tube bumper different from all of the other ones out there.

I hate tube bumpers.. I understand them.. Light weight but they really add no protection in my eyes.. Really to me you would be better off keeping the stock bumper vs

Uhhh no. Explain to me how in you eyes a piece of ABS plastic and a thin sheet metal bumper offer as much protection as a piece of 1.75 DOM tubing? I have kinked my rear OEM bumper, which is much stouter then the front, while very slowly backing into a tree and have hit a tree at about 10 mph at CC with my front and it scuffed the Krylon paint.

Because the tube opens up more to damage.. Everything up front is more exposed.. If your wheeling in wooded areas you have more potential to jam tree limbs In the radiator.. I look at this through my land surveyors eyes.. I'm used to driving in areas that are not as nice as some of the wide trails we all run.. I want my truck to be ready for where ever I go.. If you could run a winch in this bumper.. Which you can't.. It would be more exposed to potential damage too

They're both right in a sense. Dave is thinking about it in terms of tight trails with lots of branches, I think. And Racer is thinking along the lines of rock slams and fender benders, I think.

There is no right or wrong.. It's all with what you feel comfy with.. And your wheeling environment

Ok so you were referring to intrusion damage from sticks and branches and I would assume you meant to the AC condenser and radiator. The only exposed item with the Calmini bumper is the stamped steel radiator core support as the AC condenser/radiator are covered on the face by an aluminum skid plate and on the sides by the vertical supports of the bumper frame itself.

In contrast the stock bumper has a large whole in the center for a stick or a branch to pass straight through unheeded to the AC condenser/radiator.
