Ignition Wiring

So I decided to change the ignition wires and the distributor cap on my baby, when I did, I started it up but when I press the gas pedal, it doesn't go beyond 2,000 RPM. Does it matter what way I hook up the wires, cause I just put them in which ever spark plug. :(

I would start by putting the old Distributor cap back on... See if that solves it.

On our trucks it does. Its a certain firing order when the rotor spins. Here is a picture with the firing order # of the spark plugs:

Connect the spark plug cables coming from the correct piston according to numbers on top of the cap, if your distributor cap does have the numbers on it. In case you need the piston position based on the engine here it is for the 3.3L:

Rear of engine
5 6
3 4
1 2
front of engine

If it doesn't go past 2k rpm, look at your MAF plug, make sure you didn't knock it off inadvertently. Also make sure both plugs at the distributor are plugged in good. After, of course, you make sure your firing order is correct.

You didn't loosen the dizzy up and turn it to change anything, did you?
