Sounds like about 8-8.5" in the rear and only about 7 in the front. Would be an awesome setup, but I would probably leave factory shackles to even out the stance a bit.

The only reason I'm thinking about having rake is because when we load it up with camping gear I don't want the saggy bottom syndrome. Plus I don't think a 1- 1.5" difference won't look all that outta place since all vehicles from the factory come with a rake....

I would go to Nisstec. My thinking is Alcan would want to make the larger account (nisstec) priority over just your order.

When I contacted alcan they said it would only take about a week. And Nisstec will only go up to 3 inches while Alcan will go up to 4.5 if I remember correctly

I checked out his thread, thanks for the link. That looks exactly like what I want todo other than I want to delete the shock bucket and add hoops. My goal is to fit 10" travel shocks for a total of about 16" of travel.

Hey so new here and a few questions... The calmini 5" if you had the Xterra one for the R180 and you then did the t-swap would the m205 bolt up fine? Also what's a shock hoop do, replace the coil bucket? Who sells them? Thanks!

I cannot speak from experience on the drop bracket, but I would be willing to bet that it bolts up the same. Considering the M205 and R180 mount in the same place stock, and if the bracket is designed for the R180, would that not also make it possible for the M205? The difference between the M205 and R180 from a packaging stand point are the size of the housing and the axle flanges. Whereas the CV shafts are inserted into the R180, the CVs for the M205 are bolted to the flanges of the axle shafts, which protrude from the M205 housing.

Shock hoops would replace the coil bucket. This means that the coil bucket would have to be cut from the frame and replaced with a weld on coilover hoop. To my knowledge, there is not currently a bolt on coilover hoop, unlike Gen 1s for SAS. Weld on coilover hoops are generally bought as universal kits and can be found at a lot of off road stores such as TrailGear or Quadratec.

I have a set that I want to part with.

In my opinion, drop brackets are bad. Sure, you get lift and keep your CV angles low, but at the sacrifice of ground clearance. You don't actually gain much, If any, ground clearance in the front because of the bracket. Everyone I've ever talked to that had them regretted it.

Ditch the OME pack - I have them and they are better than stock but not better than alcan - if you are going soa get the best money can buy and go alcans.

Your build sounds like a slight combo of these two: Oz and La Rana

ou may want to do some hard thinking though because all that lift you may be putting alot of stress on your cv angles in the front. So I would look at that and you may need to either get some modified or have someone fab you some LCAs that adjust the placement of the shock mount (look at dirt king for an idea). Also, won't you need to address the drive shaft angle? Final thought - I've seen a fronty with a long travel setup and he had to run limit straps in the front at about 12". Not saying you can't do 16" but I think you are going to need alot more custom work that hasn't been accounted for yet in order to do so.

I like this idea in theory, but your original post is way under thought.

La Rana had the drop, and let me tell you, it acted like a road grader.

We must have spent HOURS trying to clear the front end of the clay and mud that got packed by that monstrosity.

So, just as mentioned above, sure, you get SL, but, you lower the front to get it, defeating the purpose, so, to me, it was a dumb way to go.
