All,
OKXterra brought to our attention a man named Travis Tollett who in 2007 broke his neck racing up Pikes Peak, on an ATV, in the Hill Climb race and as a result became a quadriplegic.

Well it turns out that since becoming a quadriplegic he has been determined to be the first quadriplegic to tackle Pikes Peak. The only problem is funds.

If you can donate at least $5, please reply and we will figure out how we will distribute the money raised and send it to OKXterra to make the donation from Xterra Nation. If you want to make a personal donation, that is fine too.

Send donations to:
amandahusak at sbcglobal dot net

>>Be sure to submit it as "Payment Owed" under the "Personal" tab to minimize loss of $ to fees.<<

Donations end Friday, June 22, 2012 at 5p PST

Who we are going through to make the donation:

I don't usually post stuff like this, but since it relates to offroad driving, I figured, why not. This link is about a good friend of mine, Travis Tollet http://invested.in/Pages/Projects/ShowProjectDetails.aspx?pid=2361 . Travis is a former pro quad racer that broke his neck racing the Pikes Peak challenger a few years ago. Since then, as a quadriplegic, he has been in the race as a car co-pilot for drivers, but this year he will be the first quadriplegic to race Pikes Peak as a driver!! The website is about donating $ to help his team out, but I'm not posting this to ask for money for him so much as I am to just get his story out there. He is a really sharp and strong-minded young man that has defied the odds every since his accident.

Count me in. Just let me know who to send the donation to so that XN can donate all our contributions as a united team. Perhaps we can even sponsor Travis and send him an XN sticker package for his Pike's Peak run.

Thanks for getting this going, Johann. I have known Travis for 5 or 6 years and he is one of the most deserving people I can imagine for such an opportunity.

So I'm confused; Travis needs help agreeing with or cooperating with the "Pikes Peak Hill Climb"?

CONQUER!!!!!! As in "Xerxes sent a Persian force to CONQUER Greece!" :p

Hey, everyone. Sorry this thread got quiet on this end, but Ratt and I have been trying to figure out the best way to do this so that the $ gets to the right place in the right way. If you would like to contribute to a fund that will be submitted as a donation from The XterraNation, PM me and I will let you know what we have figured out. Thanks for the interest and support!

I've already been receiving PMs from folks and appreciate the response. We are going to be submitting a donation via PayPal as a collective Xterra Nation. I will also be giving Travis an XN sticker and telling him we expect pics from the peak :D. Thanks again for everyone's support and interest.

So Pike's Peak was delayed a bit due to the fires, but Travis completed his histroric run last week. He really appreciated the help the XN gave him. Here are a couple of pics from the event... look closely above the headlight openings.

Emily and I wanted to go to the Pikes Peak climb so bad this year - but we didn't keep up with the date and ended up missing it. (We thought that they'd moved it to Sept.)

So happy to see XN could help out. You guys are def. a force to be reckoned with when it comes to helping needy people out!

Yeah, members of the XN family really came together on this one and Travis was very appreciative. He requested the XN decals so they could be front and center on race day.

You know we'll be keeping up with the dates in the future. No way we're going to miss next years race. And since we're this close too, we'll keep our ears out for anything else worth a huge XN helping hand.
