Hello all. Looks like I will be inheriting my wife's 2WD '10 xterra as she is looking for a new ride. I do a lot of dirt bike riding and have always had a pick up to carry motorcycles, but we have owned her Xterra since new and it's just too nice and reliable to trade in or sell. I will use a hitch carrier for dirt bikes and a utility trailer for general junk hauling. The Xterra will also haul our boat. I do all my own maintenance and repair work (except for AC systems) so at some point I will probably be on here for repair tips and advice. At 147K miles, it has never so much as hiccuped, but I know at some point something will break!

The first order of business is some better shocks for the rear, as a recent long trip towing our boat revealed that the stock rear shocks are long past their serviceable life. I have posted asking for suggestions in the suspension forum.

Looking forward to using the Xterra. My Ford truck has had a hard life and seen better days. I am hoping the Xterra is a nice replacement.

Welcome from Kansas. Have you ever changed the timing belt? If not, better get it done ASAP.

(EDIT - for some reason I read '01, not '10. Sorry - disregard.)
