Hello fellow X'ers,
From the North East (Long Island), new to the Xterra, but an avid Nissan owner. Previously an '80 Datsun 200SX and just recently retired a '93 Parhfinder that I owned for 15yrs. Have wanted an Xterra since they came out. But I didn't NEED to have one. My Pathy suited me just fine, until the rear chassis withered away on me. Bought a lightly used 2002 silver Xterra (non s/c). Starts adding accessories, replaced timing belt, pump, drive belts. Just recently replaced the radiator cuz it failed. Replaced the plugs and wires due to a cylinder misfire.

I'm a professional artist/custom painter. 20+ yrs experience. I'm a husband and father of two boys (8yrs and 4yrs), former Eagle Scout turned den leader for the past 3yrs now, soon to be pack Cub Master, little league coach, and hockey coach.

Welcome, officially! And it's so cool to learn a little about people. It's really cool you do the whole involved dad thing. I'm hoping to be that involved with my children as well.

Macland,
It ain't easy. Trust me. My work hours tend to conflict with family activities sometimes. I can't just "take the day off". I try to have a fellow artist substitute at my shop for me or worst case, I close for the day. I try not to be closed, otherwise I lose a days income. I do tend to pick and choose events with my kids. If we have a family gathering, my wife will plan it later in the day so I can at least work a full day. Other events like hockey, little league, etc... I try to work it around my schedule. Some games are early morning on weekends. So I'll go in a little late. It's usually quiet in the morning anyway.

I try to follow in my father's footsteps somewhat. He was never my little league coach, but we would have a catch in the yard. He would take us on cub/parent weekends, be an adult driver on Scouting excursions, etc. So I try to do what I can, when I can. If I ever attend an EXC event, I'm sure my boys will want to attend as well. LOL

That's all anyone could ask for.
