Ground location

Given the 02-04 dash/trim, where can I put a ground for a mic holder? My VHF radio won't scan without the mic being grounded, and I don't want to have a wire strung clear across the dash. I like for my wiring to be neat and hidden, if at all possible.

The radio will be going under the CD player in the 2nd din space:

This will also help determine where I mount the mic holder as well. If I had my choice, I'd be leaving the mic in the glove box until it's time for me to talk, but I also like to listen to the other frequencies riding around town, so I need to ground the mic.

There is normally a bar that runs the length of the dash at about shin height. Provided there arent isolators on the first gens where the bar goes to the frame, it would make a great ground. Remember, the shorter your ground the better.

I'll look into it..I'm getting ready to head to the garage to finish my install. I'm pretty sure there's a bar underneath the CD player, but I'm not sure where it goes.
