Note my lovely diagram, I am throwing p0420 and p0430 cel codes, in other words my cats are toast, my question what ones are cats? the ones labled one or two?

1s are your upper cats and 2s are your lower cats. The 1s are the ones that are messed up for you. You can replace them, or you can cut them out and put a straight pipe in their place. I don't know if you have to have emissions testing done or now, if not, I would cut them out and put new 02 sensors in the pipe welded in their place.

Yep, what Ryan said...and unfortunately, Davidson county has emissions testing. Otherwise, I'd have a straight pipe by now!

^^that sucks for you guys. I don't think that you can pass emissions without those first two cats. Looks like you are going to have to buy some new ones or remanned ones Luke.

hmm that what I figured... but i i wasnt sure if the second ones were really cats or not...
whats confusing me is the diagrams on courtesy parts... some have a pipe some have second cats

Those may be California emissions vehicles...for the longest time, the hybrid Altimas were only for sale in California because they have WAY stricter emissions laws. If you ever get near a tractor (like a big rig), they have FL and CA emissions inspection stickers, or else they can't drive through those states. *shrug* I guess they don't like their carbon footprint as much as I like mine..
