A co-worker told me about this app. called 8tracks last week and I've been using it here and there. You can connect via Facebook but don't need to, you can also just create an account to use it.

Basically, people build playlists that you can listen to, for free, without downloading any of the music. You select a genre, then you can select other sub-genres within the initial one, and the app. will bring up a list of playlists that fit your selections. The selection is very impressive, and many of the playlists go for many hours.

You can also build your own playlists, something I haven't tried yet so I don't know how it works.

I really like how you don't have to download any of the music, which is great if you don't have a ton of storage space on your device. It's also a great way to find new songs and artists that you may not know about. The app. stores your listening history, favorited playlists, etc.

Give it a try! 8tracks. Here's what the logo looks like, for clarity purposes:

I forgot to mention, you can also type in an artist and the app. will find playlists with songs by that artist, and playlists of the same/similar genre.

If you find a particularly good playlist, please feel free to share the title here!

Glad someone else is appreciate this app. I have found some pretty good music and songs that I would not have found otherwise.

The fanmix mashups of stuff is great too. They have a ton of Biggie ones.
(yeah, I am a Biggie fan, want to fight?)
