$450 for front and rear 4.9s, worth it?

Just talked to a not so local wrecker about picking up front and rear axles with 4.9s.
$150 for the front and $300 for the rear, they pull them, complete assemblies.
I'm running 33s in my 2001 with 4.6s will this be worth it?
I don't want to spend the money on 5.13s, front gears are now $500 at rugged rocks and add the cheaper rears I'm looking at $400 more than the 4.9s that I can just drop the axles in without setting anything up.
I was kind of hoping I could find 4.9s for closer to $300 total but maybe this is the going rate?

Yeah that rear is not a deal at all.. And then you do not know how they were used...

4.9 isn't that much of a difference vs 4.64

Considering that you can get those new for $50 more, not really.

That is for just the rear ring and pinion. The $450 includes both front and rear complete axles with the 4.9s already installed so no gear set up needed. I wanted just the third but they would only sell the full rear axle.
Assuming I could find front and rear 4.9s for $300 total, would that be worth the change?

Ebay can probably get them shipped to your house for less then that.
Maybe I suck at searching but it doesn't look that way. I found a front axle assembly for $170 shipped and a rear for $400 obo shipped. Maybe I'll offer $150 haha.

Yeah but the shipping will bump it up quite a bit. I have things shipped to Blaine Washington because I'm just across the line in my igloo and that will still add another $150 at least.

I think you guys have let me talk myself out of even looking for cheap 4.9s. I guess I'll put my lokka and diff drop in the spare 4.6 front I already have and spend my money on other cool things like guns and ammo.
Cheers!

There's also the option to get 5.13's F/R from AC for example, and get more of a difference than from 4.9's.

It is easier though to just swap in the loaded axles than to reset the gears etc...considering the work to get at the diffs etc...so that is at least one incentive.

:D

For me, to go from 4.63 to 4.9 is not enough difference for all the hassle (~ 5.5%)...5.13, OK, that's more of a difference (~ 10%)
