Howdy! New to the forum, but really enjoying the pictures of everyone's builds and the wealth of info.
I have just started making improvements to my 2004 X. I am the original owner, and it has 69500 miles on the odometer. It is a 2wd, and I am interested in improving performance and MPG for street use. I live in California (San Diego County) so I need to comply with emissions laws. I just installed a K&N 57 series FIPK cold air induction kit. That made a big difference in off-idle and mid range throttle response. Well worth the money and easy to install.
My next mod will be a Magnaflow cat-back system which should arrive in a couple of days. I am a little apprehensive about the install although there is no welding or cutting (allegedly) involved.
Has anyone installed this cat back system (or any other) on their '04, and if so can you offer any advice or pointers?
Also, if anyone can suggest any other CA legal performance mods, I would appreciate the info. Thanks!
