We have really killer trails out here south of Boise, and many of them are crawler trails. I though about SASing the black X but really its just not cost effective.

Yes its a Yota, and yes, I thought about building a first gen or hard body, but the yota t-case setup is just so dam hard to compete with. Look it up and you'll see why.

Welcome, glad you decided to at least pop your head over here! I completely understand about the SAS part, plus you don't have to care as much if you mess up with the Cherry bomb as you would if your X got all banged up on a bad line.

Haha. I would think so. Maybe us 1st Gen folks more than the 2nd gen guys and girls. Lol.

Even though I know you're talking about the 'yota, I feel my point still stands.

A little update:

Im out of school this semester and all set to apply to the nursing program (got As and Bs again!) so I have some time to work on the vehicles.

The Xs both need a going though in the spring, ujoints ball joints and such. Also i think im going to go down a tire size on mine and back to factory P4X wheels along with AL skids.

The pickup is getting a whole new front axle, hydo assist steering and has bead locks now.

New '85 axle, trussed, knuckle gussets, diff cover and skid, might be able to run 40s on it.

Sounds like a nice setup on the crawler!

It needs a few little things past that for upkeep, but I hope to have it basically gtg for the next year or two while Im in school full time come fall. I think doing a 4Wheel Underground 3 link up front will be the next big step after im finished with school. Or maybe a motor swap, the 32 year old 250K 3.0L is a bit tired and ive been eyeing a 1.9TDI lol
