Need Bigger Tires
I know that there are things that have come out of Korea that we enjoy. Subway themed dramas (yes, the shiat sammich shop, look it up). Both Kia and Hyundai (including Genesis) have become respectable car brands. K-Pop (I'm looking your way PSY). ufck, I have a Samsung phone. And Samsung TVs were a staple for many years.

But.

I really hoping that the individual responsible for the inception of the Samsung appliance devision has been horribly mistreated and locked away.

Don't ever buy a Samsung appliance.

They're. All. Garbage.

Yah. Just did a home inspection for a place we are buying. Inspector dude was all like, "These LG are decent appliances, nothing special but nice budget stuff. Good thing they aren't Samsungs, or I would recommend replacing them".

On the other hand, our current place has "GE", were brand new like 5 years ago. Pump went on the washer, and in less than 5 years, they discontinued pump A for B, then discontinued B for C, then just discontinued C with no replacement... and the heat shielding trim on the dryer started disassembling itself....

The quality of most new appliances is really sad. And their life expectancy is so short. 5-10 years you hope. I am currently running my grandmother's washer and dryer that are almost 25 years old. And only issue has been the switch to turn off the washer when the lid opens. So I bypassed it.

Also got a 5 hr start on my drive last night so I have time to hit up the pick a part near my destination this afternoon. I need to replace my tail lights again. I should just pull them before I run the baldy trail. Same tree takes them every time.

I know. It's insane. When we moved here (5 years ago this September) the house had a Samsung W/D set. The washer broke 2 weeks after we moved in. Wouldn't spin. Turns out they put a 10 year warranty on the motors after a lawsuit. I had the drum motor replaced. Ran for another 6 months. Died again. So I went out and spent $500 on a nice Whirlpool. It's been great. Now, last week, the bearing on the drum has started screaming when it's in spin cycle. Of course, it's out of their 3-year warranty.

The reason I made the original comment is that I'm still rocking the Samsung dryer. And it works. I have to clean it like every 2 months because the lint just jams up the entire machine. and a few times a year the relay that makes the drum rotate gets stuck closed so the drum rotates ALL the time when you close the door. So I have to take the lid off the dryer and smack the circuit board. Last night I put the clothes in the dryer, hit start and when it heated up the entire machine started SCREECHING AT A REDICULOUS VOLUME! piece of shiat.

My sister's house had a Samsung fridge when she bought it. It routinely says "ufck you! I DON'T MAKE ICE ANYMORE!!!" and then a week later:

Agreed. I have a 20 year old Maytag dryer I hit with a forklift when i worked at Lowes back then (cant see the dented side where it is) that has supported me through bachelordom, marriage, divorce and bachelordom again. The washer failed two years ago and I replaced it with a Maytag again, but I dont think it will last like my OG set.

pre-planned obsolesce ufcking sucks
