There's a lot of info and operational procedures that you learn by reading the books. Even if you've passed the exam that way, going and reading the study manuals is a huge help with being a good operator and building the knowledge needed to truly be an effective communicator in the air waves.

I bought that Ham for dummies at a garage sale but it is more how to study than what to study. I need actual print materials to learn from not just questions to memorize..

There's still a lot in there. You might find yourself needing to to relay emergency communications or to make emergency communications yourself eventually in all manner of situations where having the basic knowledge in those manuals could make a huge difference.
