Except this is all personal funds. No corporate bullshiat here. Either picking up discards from work, or watching ebay.

Much better. Corporate implies you don't own it. Should probably add in the enterprise access point as well. All the crap my wife has to put up with so I can learn new skills. She's already said that if anything happens to me, all the infrastructure will be gone as she has no idea what to do with any of it. She'll be back to being a basic Netflix user.

Yeah. Given the state of things, if I die, all the tech in the house will be useless until my kids get old enough to understand it.

I guess corporate was the wrong word. Enterprise. That's better.
Same here for the most part here. The exception being the pfsense box. Though it's been great for the 4 or so years since I've built it. It occasionally needs a reboot, it just sort of locks up, and there's nothing in the logs indicating why.

WiFi is using a ubiquity access point that gets the whole house from the basement. I've got either a dink or linksys l2 switch I picked up off ebay for about 40 bucks as the backbone. I need to add a small 10gb switch so I can hook up my desktop, servers, since 10gb hardware has come way down in cost.

Once I build a new machine, I'll be repurposing the dual xeon system as a new oroxmox host, adding ram, and virtualizing truenas on it, as well as my media server. I also need to upgrade the drives, since I'm still running 3tb drives.

When I eat beets, I stain my sheets.

I don't even know why.
