This is exactly right. I'd much rather be cold than hot.Heat sucks. You can put on extra layers when it's cold, but you can only take off so much before the neighbors call the cops.

82 when sleeping?!?!?!? ufck that! Try 62!View attachment 18261
texas power grid is managed by ERCOT. These are their suggested thermostat settings to “preserve the grid” so we dont lose power in the summer like we did during SNOVID. They can go ufck themselves with these. Telling us to cut power, all the while pandering to big business, windmills and solar while still pushing electric cars. Its clear wind and solar are needed. But they arent doing it for Texas.
we need a couple big old school power plants. This is some shiat.
The memes are gold tho
Hey baby, be cool, be cool. I was just generically bitching about the Texas power grid, I know the rules.it's a Texas thing. We're special.
/end politics.
50 if I could82 when sleeping?!?!?!? ufck that! Try 62!
Yeah, we broke the record here yesterday too. 101°Salt Lake City broke the record for yesterday, and tied for the highest temperature ever recorded at 107... it was 103 at my house at 7:00 p.m., and still 97 at 10:00
I agree with @Prime - ufck IT'S HOT
68/69 while i sleep with my fan blowing right on me. Always. Ill turn that shiat up when i go to work, but when I come home, air goin back down.82 when sleeping?!?!?!? ufck that! Try 62!
I can't even do that anymore. I never leave home for work. So I gotta keep it cool ALL DAY!68/69 while i sleep with my fan blowing right on me. Always. Ill turn that shiat up when i go to work, but when I come home, air goin back down.
Completely disagree. I would rather have dry heat. This is exactly right. I'd much rather be cold than hot.
Thats the best part of those mini splits though. I can turn a room off and shut the door until we use it. Then cool the room back down in less the 10 minutes when we need itI can't even do that anymore. I never leave home for work. So I gotta keep it cool ALL DAY!

//my bills so big
There might be some political influences behind the scenes of Ercot and Oncor that lead to this, but the biggest issue was not properly maintaining the plants, nor realizing what to do during winter. Keep the fluid in the pipes moving and you'll be better off than shutting everything down and letting it stagnate. Snowvid is what's led to our power issues this summer.Hey baby, be cool, be cool. Besides, I didnt have AC for four and a half ufcking days. I done consvervatismed already.
It's not humid here. But when I'm sitting in my office trying to work and pouring sweat, it ain't fun.Completely disagree. I would rather have dry heat.
I lived in the San Joaquin Valley for 3 years. 110 during the day and I loved it. Sunshine 9 months of the year. If it weren't for Cali politics I would move back in a hurry
If I was doing it from the ground up, I would definitely have mini splits in each area. Definitely. I still might add one to the master just to better control that zone.Thats the best part of those mini splits though. I can turn a room off and shut the door until we use it. Then cool the room back down in less the 10 minutes when we need it

Was thinking about this also.My plan is if my office heats up too much with my equipment, I'll put in a four zone mini split for the upstairs, and block off the ducts to the main AC unit. Let that one unit run the downstairs only, since we only have one unit for the house.
If I didn't have this preposterously large sliding window, I'd consider doing that.I would almost have to have a large, dedicated AC just for the office. Like a big bad ass window unit. hahah
Oh, they totally knew what they were doing
