Video from this weekend:

I'll have to start bringing out the Digital Camera too because the videos are good, but it doesn't make for great still shots

Here are some screen shots taken from the video for those of you that prefer that

Took the bumper off, added some more rustoleum semi-flat black to the bumper. It should be prepared for the Ohio winter now. Oh! Also installed the Smittybilt XRC-8 winch. A little easier then I thought it would be to install, but for anyone installing a similar winch, use a crescent wrench instead of a socket set for the bolts that the wires get mounted to. Broke in half in my excitement trying to get it on, luckily there was still enough space to wire it up.

Also relocated the license plate so it wouldn't be in the way of the new toy:

Everyone talks about the weight difference and the dip in the front end when braking but after driving home last night and to work this morning and I couldn't feel much difference. It's about 200 more pounds with the bumper and winch and it still seems to ride the same

Nice X sir.

Thanks Jmac!

Also got a couple things done today. After doing the body lift I had that gap in the wheel wells exposing the engine compartment, so picked up some rubber tub matting from home depot for about $11.95 and swapped out the old ones.

Before (with the liners pulled out)

So I've been eyeing the "raingler" nets on 4x4parts and for around $100 that just seems a little ridiculous. It may not be as high of quality, but for $9 there was no risk at all. I picked up a Grizzly Gear 36"x60" cargo net (with 16 hooks) and put it in the back. I like how the raingler net acts sort of as a divider, so that's pretty much what I was going off of:

I also ordered the "handle keeper" for the hi-lift as that will be attached to the roof here when off roading as soon the heavy duty O clamps arrive. That should free up some good space.

Aaaaaaaaand just because I love the RLC bumper, one more pic of that:

Got the Idler Arm Brace Installed (the only 2 things I would recommend for this would be to remove the front skid plate, and take the nut off the bottom of the idler arm before removing the ones that tie into the frame)

Still have the splash guard tucked out of the way:

Also got the heavy duty "O" clamps worked out so the jack can be mounted to the roof. Had to pick up a longer bolt for one of the brackets because the jack stuck out too far with the handle keeper

A few pics from Big Rock, this place was pretty good and at only 2 hours away I'll definitely be going back. Had some good water crossings, hill climbs, little bit of rocks

I'm trying out Final Cut Pro X right now, and I thought, what better way to play with it then with Xterra footage? I also thought it would be kind of cool to have some sort of "video build" to show the mods and what's been done along with the progression of the X. So here's my brief attempt at that with software I am just getting acclimated to

And it looks like 720p actually gives out the best picture. I dunno what's going on with the 1080p res but it looks a little glitchy

shoot, the file is too big for my free vimeo account, and it looks like it was the music possibly. I'll try to publish it again with some different music and see what we can do (just try to picture it to "Run Right Back" by the Black Keys). It's weird that it works for me, can you try the embedded file on CX and see if that one works at all?

Same here, they blocked the US! lol The pics look good!

I can't view video do to some WMG thingy being blocked in my damn country...which I thought we had freedom of some sort here.

And maybe see if this one will work (if not it looks like I'll have to avoid using music or something)

nice rig there bud!

Thanks man! I appreciate it. Let me know if anything is going on with the "Great Lake Xterras", I'm in Ohio, but Bundy Hills, Badlands, and any place within a couple of hours is always an option

Aaaaaand just a couple more pics from Big Rock that got left out the first time around. Since I got the cargo net installed I wanted to have a pic of that, and not thinking this would be that option, I like seeing it in this one:

Just another angle of one of the flex shots from before:

This is probably starting to look old....

And one showing how fast the Xterra can be when she needs to!

received my shrock engine/transmission skid plate after 2 months:

As far as first impression go, this is some pretty beefy steel and the install was quite easy. I think the hardest part was making sure some dried up dirt from off road trips prior was removed before trying to put some bolts into the frame
