VAXC - Represent at WENT!

Last year it rained all day Saturday. They still went out and hit the trails though. Some of us humg back at the event pavilion and just talked all day. Helped out with setup for the night.

There will be Easy trail rides for the new X owners. And yes they do get put into the intermediate groups on Saturday, if they feel comforatble enough. The guys that lead the trails are great at spotting and leading the way. They got a Bone stock 2wd through trail 22(?) last year. Not an easy task. But he loved it!!!


I'm only an honorary VAXC member, being in Tennessee and all, but I've been to NXM 2 and 3 and if I can help out in any way just let me know. Also, there will be a big showing of seXTERRA too. OffRdX is a member and obi is too. So feel free to come up and say hi to us at WENT..........

(since we all like, follow and are friends online, hahah!)

We will have to all meet up, I hope to be able to make your meetup and say hi on wednesday there.

We should definitely try to arrange a convoy of some kind. Josh - I think there should be a place under events on the VAXC / events that lay out details like who is attending, leaving from where, times, misc details, mod days...etc. Just a central place we cann all go to see the latest and greatest. I can certainly help manage that with you if you like. Let this be the year we work out the kinks in our communication and organizational skills as a group. Shadow Sexterra and see how they handle their group and maybe we can represent a side action next year.

Oh I am leaving Tuesday night by 9pm from NOVA, plan is to be at WENT by 8am Wednesday morning. This gives me 3 extra hours for pit stops, dog naps, pick ups and meet ups.

Leaving 804 weds. Looks like the fastest way is to go up 64W and drop onto 81. If we do that, we should pick maybe 2-3 spots where we can do quick stops to pick up people. Perhaps the people coming from the beach can meet in Richmond, then we all go from Richmond to the next stop? Either way, for gas I am probably going to map where BP locations are since I have a gas card through them. There should be plenty of them around as well.

64 to 81 to 40 is the best interstate route. Bristol is a good meeting point on that route. I won't be able to get in on any convoys. I'll be on the road Monday night.

I am going to compile a list of who is leaving from where and what day. So we can get a better idea of what convoys can run and such.

seXTERRA is by no means an organizational powerhouse. But we try to get it together. We have sponsored a dinner at WENT/NXM every year, one, because it's kind of our home turf and two, drbandkgb (David) and kgbanddrb (Kelly) are both in seXTERRA. So that helps, ;)

But any insight I or Kevin, (DirtyRice120), can provide is yours for the asking.

I'm leaving as soon as I get it of classes on Wednesday so I'll probably miss the convoy. Plus prime is cheating me this year and leaving early do I can't play my game of see if I can catch Prime game.

So began looking at the map in more detail today. Trying to plan out spots where could all possibly link up along the way.

I will be leaving Wednesday morning, no later than 8am -going to be taking 64w till I hit 81s. From there I will hittin I-40, to TN-162, and so on.

Thoughts? Anyone taking a similar route?

That rest station, right between mile marker 167 and 168, outside of the city and right after the 288 exits.
We have met there a few times, seems to work the best because we can quickly get right back on the road.
M has the exact mile marker noted, will update in a min.

Boom, works! Thats a good point for us to meet up with anyone from NOVA. We wont have to stop for gas till about Blacksburg if I am correct.

But I will have the whole trip planned out. By the time we meet up we should be at least 4 Xterras deep.

Jay is coming, but a few days before. So there will be 5 of us, till we hit Roanoke - Donnie will be linking up with us there.

So 6 deep rolling into Windrock at this point.
