Notched from JDSquared arrived today. 2 day turnaround.

Nice acquisition, sir.

That's a really nice piece of fab gear; I've used my friend's a few times and it always brings a smile to my face when I cut a piece and inspect the fit-up. Can't wait to see what you put together with that thing...

Put it and the bender/die together this morning... heading out now to play with the notcher.

Finally finished the frame stiffness today. It seems that 1/2" hole saws are considered a specialty item. Sears wanted $24 for one. No one else around here has them. Had to use a 5/8" from Ace hardware instead $8. Cut the mounting brackets for the bumper. Put 2 sets of holes in them so when/if I get a 2" BL I can raise it.

Welded the spindle's outer cylinder to the tire carrier's swing arm but found out the bearing seats need to be pressed in. Otherwise the swing arm would be finished.

Tested the notcher on a piece of the tubing for the tire carrier. Nice even cut with smooth working movement.

Next step will be to setup the bender and start on the tire carrier and support pieces.

Put the main section on to start measuring the side panels and swing arm hinge placement.

Hey at least your trying. If I had a welder and some time I'd like to try to fab some parts too

Actually... the only welding I've done to this point on he bumper was to attach the trailer receiver tube. Everything else is was put together with 1/2" and 3/4" grade 8 bolts. Just been a lot of hole drilling and grinding rounded edges.

Changed the design today. The swing arm was just too long. After getting the AtoZ Fab hinge parts in with a mallet, 3" long 1" bolt, 3/4" washer grinder down to fit, I setup the welding position for the hinge support. The arm was waaay longer than I thought it would be. So it'll be 2 arms now. Tire on one, jerry cans and jack on the other. Luckily I had a 4x4x1/4 piece of tubing 3" long left from the first hinge support in the scraps. Just need to order a second hinge from ATOZ to match.

Update: Almost finished and was able to keep it to 1 swing arm. Just a few more pieces to weld on: jack base, jerry can base, tag holder and lock. Then it's prep work for BDS rust proofing and cover coat.

RIP brother I remember meeting you years ago on what I think was your first outing. Your kind heart and good cooking are two things that I will sorely miss.
