Time to start the build thread.
Here is your introduction to my project called "RumRunner"
Ideally the idea behind this build is to build something you would see running the Borders smuggling alcohol as if back in the Prohibition days. Full of Utility options and can sustain several "Night Runs" without any assistance needed. lol odd but that's the inspiration hence "RumRunner"

Purchased in OCT 2011
photo.jpg

Took the mud guards and shortly after this pic took the step rails off
1.jpg

first purchase arrived 3 weeks after i got it.. K&N cold air intake
here is the install
Before...

After...

4.jpg

shortly after added the Rain Guards.

HAd to install a safty light, i liked this location
(No relation to 2nd gen in BG)
5.jpg

Here is my best friend Francisco
527423_10100331255738248_645187345_n.jpg

in turn making me next add some Raingler netting to keep him at bay and added storage
6.jpg

7.jpg

didnt do anything after that for about 2-3 months...

Then i decided to add some small fog lights
IMG_2093.jpg

and found a cool switch for them
IMG_2089.jpg

Spring came around so i added some new Rocky Mounts on top so that i can haul the bikes.
i had to modify the Yakima ski racks to allow the mounts to fit inbetween the bike rails
but i think it turned out really well. can haul 2 boards and 2 bikes.
IMG_2090.jpg

with my other modes of transportation on top
476913_10100384211689098_1829320501_o.jpg

Added some new meat not long after... Got a great deal on some 285/75R16 Nitto Terra Grappler All-Terrian
They barely fit with stock ride so i did some light triming however its certainly not a long term solution. So as of now i am waiting
on some Calmini Shackles that are in the mail as we speak. PML is the project for this weekend.
IMG_2091.jpg

IMG_2092.jpg

Added the Hammock Relaxation and Hydration Attachment :)

Started with the back end...
and finally found my chance to remove the rear sway bar also

IMG_2242.jpg

Time to Dig In

Removing the Stock Shackles
IMG_2236.jpg

IMG_2237.jpg

Replacement time!
IMG_2243.jpg

Sorry for the darkness on the following pics... (Taken on an IPhone with lots of back light)
Installing the new Shackles... And utilizing the Factory jack as found in "robcarync"
How To Thread.. to match up the bigger shackles...THANKS robcarync !!!!.. This made this such an easy process!
IMG_2244.jpg

IMG_2244.jpg

Hung the new shackles from the leaf springs first
IMG_2246.jpg

Again using the factory jack for assistance
IMG_2249.jpg

first shackle on
IMG_2253.jpg

Working on the second
IMG_2256.jpg

Ok so Rear end is down and here she sits before we moved to the front
IMG_2257.jpg

IMG_2257.jpg

So im sorry guys but once we dug into the front torsion bar side of things we cranked through it
so fast i didn't get any real good pics... and they wouldn't have been any different than "robcarync" PML how to sticky anyway.

So after all said and done here she sits in all.
Rear Before
IMG_2231.jpg

Rear After
IMG_2260.jpg

Front Before
IMG_2230.jpg

Front After
IMG_2261.jpg

I will try to get better shots of her current stance when i can get more time...and without all the shadows and such skewing the view
but here are just a couple more
IMG_2262.jpg

IMG_2264.jpg

IMG_2259.jpg

Overall after all the measurements were taken i added 1.5 inches in the rear and just a couple mm shy of 1.5 inches up front.
Bumpstop gaps all still clear and once i have my alignment done tomorrow should still be riding with 0.5 inch gap as it sat stock.

Hope to post more very soon.. till then thanks for checking out project RumRunner!:cips-big:

ok so first off i completely forgot who's thread i saw this on but thought it was awesome!!
So bored in my X i drew my own "Warning" label

haha thanks to whoever inspired this!

anyway just hanging with the "Isabella" the other day and found a space open next to a stock Xterra!
Did what any modder in us would do.. Photo time next to stock X!
IMG_2297.jpg

IMG_2294.jpg

!

So then yesterday after work my bud who drive a new 2012 Scoob WRX got a new mod that replaces his license plate on the right front fender...(and after seeing another X thread about the same thing..)
i had to do it to.. love the look... just one of those mods where people go "HUH" that isn't right!...
IMG_2296.jpg

IMG_2295.jpg

Ill keep up as new things happen..RumRunner loves your responses or input on how to do things better...

Well finally had an afternoon to test my new PML!

First off i did find my old 2001 Xterra faring from my old X i had back in 03'
IMG_2299.jpg

Long story short.. was young.. got a new job.. bought the X then lost my job cuz the company went under...
had to give it back to bank.. :(

however finding this old sticker up faring and making my first off road trail ride with my newly
fully paid off 04' modded Xterra made the trip somewhat sentimental... anyway sappyness gone!!!

Hit up my classic day trip trail.. Pole Hill RD above Estes Park Co!
IMG_2362.jpg

Trail report in appropriate Thread when i get time.. Links will be posted here. :)

Time for ne PML flex shots.. and wow was i surprised!
IMG_2304.jpg

IMG_2341.jpg

So PML was great however i now know why you all are like.. "YO'! YOUS NEEDS A 2"BL YO AND ALL KINDS B!!!".. haha still need more room for the PML Life style!

Spent the rest of the very relaxing day with my best Mod and friend "Francisco"

Thanks for the kind words everyone! i sure am enjoying this forum the most out of all the others im on.

More mod updates
Yesterday i received my Hi-Lift
hilift.jpg

However i ordered the XT485 Xtreme (Silver and black one) but Amazon sent me the model below it.. its only a $20 difference but not the one i wanted. So i called Amazon about it and was told to wait for an email containing all the return labels and such. and that i could return the red one for the correct one i ordered... ok yadda yadda.. long story short i just received an email notifying me that the XT model has just shipped and i havnt received any info to return the first one..

SOOOOO i may have scored 2 jacks for the price of one... (although i will attempt to return the first one but if i don't hear anything back from amazon on it within a few weeks then i'm keeping it) their mistake..BAZINGA!

Also just got a nice Smittybuilt D-Ring Clevis for my hitch
dring.jpg

However after installing it brought more attention on how much clean up work my hitch needs.. a bit of an eye sore... so i think this weekend plans are a lot of plastics and metal clean up painting.

Nice rig man...I like the sideways hi-lift mount. I decided against the wing nuts, only because I didn't want to make it easier to steal.

I know this is a bit late, but referring to getting the second one free, if you got it direct from Amazon (not a 3rd party fulfilled by Amazon) they'll sometimes just go ahead and let you keep the original item. I work for them and see that.

Wish it'd happen to me lol.

That aside, the X looks good man. Got me wanting to go do my shackles tomorrow..hopefully it isn't too cold and I can get a jack, since mine is out of commission.
