Hell no. When the clutch is engaged I can't even come close to turning it.

When the clutch is disengaged a mouse could use it as a spinning wheel it spins so freely.

ditto. If mine's locked, there's zero movement.

Sounds like either something's loose inside your gearbox and binding, or your brake isn't releasing like it should.

Fixored. Called engo. Apparently I put something back in wrong on the motor end when I sealed it up. Also sealed the gearbox while I had it out.

Thinking about having the bumper permanently welded to the frame horns. I'd have to cut some holes to get nuts on to the two that broke off inside the frame. So that brings up structural concerns. Plus I can't think of a reason I'd ever remove the bumper now that it's done.

Thoughts?

I don't know...

Say the winch blows out and you need to take it out and put a new one in and rewire it. Or if you need to repaint your bumper down the road. Or you get into a wreck bang up the bumper pretty bad and want to get a new one....

It's definitely a commitment haha

Winch comes out with the grill removed. If I get into an accident, the truck will likely be totalled since it's worthless on paper. At that point, I'd probably go Gen 2 anyway. Resurfacing the bumper is the only real concern as far as I see it.

My concern is that if I ever have to REALLY use the winch to its full 10k potential, I've got 6 bolts and cut up frame horns holding it to the truck.

Mine is welded... I like you broke a bolt off in the frame.. Well Luke did.. The winch will slide in and out with just removing the grill...

I like the spots.. The are strong and if I wanted to take it off it would not require much cutting

At the age of your vehicle I would say go for it. How you weld it is minor. What is important is that you weld it level and exactly where you want.

Yeah. Right now the only tension is on 3 bolts. One is completely missing and one is snug, but with a broken captive nut, it can't get any tighter.

I'm gonna do it. Well. Not me. Since I don't have a welder. But. Yeah. It's getting done.

Still no progress on the lighting situation. I'm missing some tiny little plastic pieces that I need to finish.

I love the winch remote plug in location. Have you thought about getting the wireless for it? I like mine. Where did you run the solenoids off too?

Your going to have to re due that wrap on the drum. It looks to professional. Someone might call you a mall crawler!!

I'm not using the solenoid pack. I'm using a relay contactor from gigglepin4x4.co.uk. It's tiny, and tucked behind the cruise control module. I'll snap a picture in the daylight.

I've considered wireless controls, but I guess it all depends on how much I end up using it.

And leave my wrap alone! I can't STAND carelessly wound winch line. It's one thing to just roll it up on the trail and move on, but when I get home, I'll straighten it every time.

Here's my thoughts on the welding issue if your bumpers like mine and you have adapters to go from the bumper to the frame will be adapters if not it's your call

Had the X towed to the shop today. Noticed some really bad diff noises coming from the rear end. Locker seems to work fine but when I changed the fluid, the plug magnet was covered in metal shavings. Hoping it's just a carrier bearing and nothing is permanently damaged.

Heard from the shop today. Guy thinks it's just a wheel bearing. Seems that something is out of alignment as it just threw an ABS code too.

He said he'd dive into the rear end tomorrow and make sure everything else is kosher.
