I picked up a set of complete front knuckles off a 2012 QX56 w/ 36k miles. Came with hub assemblies, ABS sensor, the lot.

Got a killer deal on them. Normally the knuckles sell for $150 and the hub assemblies new are over $200. Paid $250 for the pair.

Damn. So I would just need knuckles, rotors, brakes and hubs right?

And the brakes are different depending on what year. 2004-mid 2006 are a 13" rotor and requires 17s to clear. Mid 2006 up is a 14" rotor and needs 18s.

I think with the larger tires and all the extra weight going from an 11.5" rotor to a 13" will make a huge difference in stopping power.

I really don't want to bump to 17's either but wheel options are already limited and can't do adapters as I'll be way too wide adapters and Ts

So I got an early day and decided to tackle one of my front seats. Upholstery is hard.

Also installing heated seats while doing the new leather.

These little ufckers suck. Hog rings.

They're basically staples that you use a special tool to wrap them around the metal underpinning of the seat. I'll take better pictures on the drivers seat.

Overall, it's OK. And just OK. It's not as tight as it should be but I blame that on years of wear and passengers compressing the foam. I may buy new foam for the drivers seat.

I've seen that the pros will steam the leather and stretch it to get the hog rings nice and tight then the leather dries and tightens up even more but like you said, new foam will definitely help.

I've thought about that as we're trying to move out to CO next year. But in the long run, leather wears better, is comfortable, and WAAAAAAAY more child resistant than cloth.

I might consider leather with washable seat covers but the closest thing to a child in my truck is my dog... maby drunk folks.
Out of curiosity where in Co are you thinking. If you come up around fort collins give me a ring and I will show you the best brewery's in town.

Not sure yet where we're going land. But we'll be out that way this year. Flying in to Denver and driving up to South Dakota to visit my grandmother.
