Hey I was wondering how the Firestones are holding up?? I was close to getting these once but read some reviews that gave me doubts. I love the look and the tread pattern, hows the ride and durability?

David, I'm sure MississippiGal will chime in at some point, but she is stuck in meetings all week. In the meantime, I know she has over 20,000 miles (probably over 25,000) on the Firestones and they are holding up really well. It is her daily driver, so they have seen a lot of pavement, but the lugs still have a lot of life in them. I know there are mixed reviews about how well they hold up, but it seems like it might be terrain dependent. Hers have seen a lot of wet clay and lots and lots of granite rocks off roading where we are at, and they have performed great on both surfaces.

As OKXterra said, stuck in a lot of meetings this week, but I did want to say thanks to everyone who's given me props (GlamisDuneStar, Le Loup, drbandkgb, Macland, gorillamel, metzican, and dephep). Dasypus is still a work in progress, and I can honestly say that every single day, when I walk outside, I grin real big and think "damn that's a nice ride."

And David, the wheels are holding up very well. The ride is surprisingly smooth, and you do get a little "mudtire whine" but it just makes me smile so I don't mind it a bit. OKX and I are both rocking these tires, and I have no complaints at all. I'm going to be sad when they're worn out because they are much harder to come by now. But, if you can find them, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Well, adding the switches for the PIAAs on the Gobi rack meant sacrificing the OTRATTW switch for the integrated garage door opener. MississippiGal missed the convenience of the switch so today she installed a Homelink opener. Turned out really nice!

That is a great spot for those.. These are the mods I love... titan swaps are ok.. but these are well thought out and not something just anyone could come up with...

The jump starter was $60, but a 20% off coupon at Harbor Feight knocks that price down quite a bit. It has a compressor built in, but since we already have a VIAIR compressor, it wasn't as impotant to us as the 12v jump and charging ability. The tire repair kit I'll have to look up, but it is a nice little all-in-one kit from Viking Offroad.

Edit: the tire repair kit runs around $40. A little on the spendy side, but it has all the tools you might need for an on the trail tire fix and everything is good quality.
