Well to sum it up. I am newly single and this means hopefully more time with me and my X. I get two weeks of vacation and one of them is going to be spent at WENT unless a wedding(not mine) gets in the way. And the other one I want to try a expedition type of vacation. The biggest problem I have is I live a long days drive from anything. After doing some research I cam across Sam's website
http://www.transamtrail.com/
Most of you probably heard about this. But what I did not know was that he has discovered 3 other routes that are shorter.
Shadow of the Rockies: This is about a week long trip from the Mexican boarder in Texas all the way up to Colorado. Which I would love to do but its a little long for just one week off and having to travel over (1 day) and back (2 days).
Mississippi Hill Country: This is a circular trip that is 2 days north and then south. Each direction takes a different route.
Lake Hill Motors: This is also a circular loop that goes east to west then back east. Its a two day adventure.
After talking to Sam who seems like a really great guy. I guess you can combine the Mississippi Hill Country Trail with the Lake Hill Motors Trail. This will create about a 4 day journey and you will not have to do the same route more then once. I have not decided yet if I'm going to do this or not but I am really going to start planning for it for the end of summer trip. He said he could also send me the GPS map. Which I would prefer over the roll maps.
Now all I need to do is plan this trip, figure out when, and finish getting anything and installing anything on my vehicle I would like.
If you have any ideas or suggestions let me know.
