wow.... this is an amazing build and absolutely LOVE the winch mount you had made.... if only it didn't rust without paint and stayed looking that pristine.....

Hey man, I had a great time wheeling with you this weekend. Thank you for letting me ride with you, and I sure hope you can use that coupon or one of my photos can win you that competition. Also thank you for the assist on my Alternator, wouldn't have done it so easily without you.

I look forward to wheeling with you again.

Had an awesome time too, you can ride and spot for me anytime, or pull cable haha, and thanks for letting me ride with you on the night run down 22, had a blast, I haven't ever just gotten to ride along, so it was a nice change.

I used a piece of 1/8" steel plate and a piece of 1x4 white pine gorilla glued to the roofs sheetmetal. The CB bracket is screwed through the plate and into the wood, and then the piece of plate is also bolted to the ceiling in the reinforcing rib where the ceiling basket screws into, so it has 4 screws total holding it up there, its very solid now. I originally just did the 2 screws into the reinforcing rib with the plate as a bracket, but it was a little to flimsy for my liking.

I didn't take any when I did it unfortunately, and i'd have to pull the front half of the headliner down to get anything worthwhile.

Looks like on board air is going to be the next project, going to need it for my new anger management device...Grover 1510 Stuttertone, AKA the fire truck horn. Still debating compressors, could hardwire what I have but i'd really like something with more CFM and duty cycle.

Picked it up used but in great shape off ebay, been bidding on them for awhile now but they always go too high. This will fix that wimpy stock horn problem haha. OBA will be good prep for when I get a locker too.

Finally getting somewhere, had no time this spring to work on this thing. Give me enough time to think things through and I do alright though.

The bottom of the tank is level with the bottom of the exhaust piping, put the tank where the charcoal canister goes, flipped the charcoal canister over and used a couple rivnuts in the reinforcing rib in the body to remount it, just need to extend the lines and wiring harness.

For those that didn't hear or see it at NXM3, the OBA is 99% finished, gotta fix and clean up some wiring i'm not happy with. Very happy with my choice in compressor so far, the Air Zenith is a beast, used it plenty this weekend, it helped to reset a bead and fill a 42" tire, ran an impact and blow gun, and numerous toots of the horn since I had so many requests haha. Fire truck horn FTW! I got into a horn face off with a semi truck in one of the tunnels on I40 coming back home, needless to say, mine is louder.

So I was slacking on pics. Still need to fix the wiring, waiting on a new pressure switch since this one is bad.

Horn, Regulator, Solenoid and quick connect in bumper.

I was debating to compete with you on the air horn. (I think yours is louder though)

I only got a few glances under the rear of your X while I was following you.

And I say it is very well tucked under there. Looked very clean. (Pictures cleared up more of how you had it under there.)

What are you running for a horn? Finding a place for everything is what took me so long to get this done, I would sit under there and stare for 20 minutes at a time holding each piece up and picturing it mentally. All the pieces are tight up against the body, but I may build a sheet metal skid just to keep anything like a stray branch from snagging the air lines and wiring.

Grover 2001 or similar. It originally goes on a 5000 series International PayStar. But the PayStar uses 2 on the roof instead.

Hey Man Its Dylan that had the Red X like yours from NOAS. So a little birdy told me you are looking for a locker. I know of a complete axle ready to bolt in that has been converted to 31 spline and has a Full Detroit locker in it. It is 4.63 gear which I Have heard will work for you in the SC truck. I can pass on the info if you are wanting it.

Thanks for telling me, but I won't have the money for any major truck projects for a while, working on saving/paying for a wedding right now. That and I think my driving style and detroit style locker would not get along well in the mountains haha.

Your avatar pic was one of the first pictures I found when I first bought my X and Googled "Xterra Wallpapers." It also sparked my unquenchable lust for the Nismo Rays wheels, the bronze ones being my favorite. All the sets I find on eBay are around a grand... Sad days. I love your X, and glad I have a chance to talk to the guy who owns the rig in one of my favorite Xterra pics.

Its one of my favorite pics too, glad you like it. Keep your eyes open for Nismo's, i'd never pay that much for them, but I got these for a steal off ebay BNIB at that. No updates on the truck, just driving it. I have a friendly demand that the car runs for the wedding so that is what i've been working on.
