Looking great man! Looks like it's getting built up nice!

Thanks! A little encouragement goes a long way right now! Has anyone did a write up on the 4x4parts vers the Calmini 3" sup. lift? Its looking more and more like I'll need to do a 3" SL. I'm looking at my shocks and ball joints and they all need replacing so why not get a little extra lift.

Well not much happened over the weekend. It was cold! I have a carport, I wish it was a garage. I did manage to get all the electrical connected on the bumper parking lights, winch and these nice 4" LED spots. I got them off of Amazon for 17$. How in the world they make these for 17$ I have no idea. They seem to be made really well. I did not put in any relay's and I wired them into my existing switch. As you can see they work just fine.20160407_165015.jpg20160409_172010.jpg

They'll work just fine without a relay. To my knowledge, the point of a relay is to keep all the power of the battery in the engine bay rather than inside the cabin when you wire things directly to the switch. By using a relay you essentially make the switch inside the cabin turn on the relay which turns on the lights; doing this allows for a much smaller current running through the switch inside the cabin and is, therefore, safer.

However, its not really a huge risk. I always use relays, some people never do, and I don't hear of problems too often.

The lights are only 27 watts each, I would have used relays if the wattage was up around 35 or higher. I do like the way they look though!

I'm out of the carport and drove it to work today. Man those tires are loud! I don't see me keeping them for long. I really liked my grabber AT2 tires. Maybe I can get them on a 20". I'm pretty sure I can. One thing I did notice is that the X feels like its riding on the front 2 tires and the back end is just along for the ride. Does a rear bumper and tire carrier solve this? Well I think at the very least it would help. Here's a pic. I like it!

With your winch bumper plus winch on the front adds weight. Affects the ride more with it being that far past the sxle. Still on stock TBs that are soft which add to the front floating around more. 20" wheels will ride rough since you have little sidewall on the tire. That sidewall works with the suspension. Less sidewall = less help for the suspension. 20" wheels add alot more unsound weight. I'd you have no weight in the hatch to try to offset the weight you added in the front; it will also add to the rear suspension not wanting to cycle. Too biggest things to do to help is smaller wheels & weight to the back to help balance it out some. Would not be suprised if all the shocks are pretty much shot from age and use.

SRS, The shocks are shot for sure, but after I put the spare tire back on and loaded my junk in the back it helped alot. I have a GLX meet in attica,IN. this weekend. After that I'm going to look into a rear tire carrier and the Calmini 3" sup. lift. That kit comes with shocks. The truck drives great! If I can sell the 20" rims or trade for some 17" I will. I have the wheels on craigslist right now. I guess I'll be going to the GLX meet with my stock tires and rims. I just don't want to cut the metal in the front corner panel.

The Calmini shocks are garbage from what I've heard. Better off getting some Bilstein 5100s and piece meal the rest of the lift. I came out much better cost wise when I did mine.

Prime I just can't win, Have you heard anything about the 4x4parts 3" lift shocks? I've went back to the stock rims and tires for now. I'm selling the 20's and the 33x12.5 tires. I think I need to get this sup. issues taken care of. Which amounts to a rear tire carrier! Just to get the stance right

Stay away from the Calmini ones. I had them and they were garbage. Pretty much everyone on here has the Bilstein shocks. Either the 5100 or the 4600 series are good. I still have my 5100 Bilsteins in the back and love them. Just make sure you get the ones that are for a 3" lift.

I also had the rancho shocks and they were ok. At least they are mono shocks but they just didn't last as long as my bilsteins have. Still your best bet IMO.

What Prime has said. Much better off piecing your suspension lift vs getting a package. Get better parts overall. If you shop around; you can get it pieced together for the same price if not slightly less. Bilstein 4600 and 5100 series shocks are your best bets. There is more than just the zinc coating on the 5100 series that makes them better than the 4600 series. I personally would not touch Ranchos. Have been less than impressed with them. The Calmini are garbage due to poor travel and how they are built. Good shocks with the front & rear sway bar removed does much better than most people think.

An update on Joey. I went to the Badlands in attica, IN. with GLX (Great lakes Xterra's) What a great time. I didn't get to many picture because I was to busy having a great time wheeling. The Lokka locker proformed better than I could have imaged. Really, all of the mod's I had done were worth it. I was very please.

Now lets talk tires and wheels! I wasn't happy with the 33" tires on the 20" rims. I agreed that the side wall on the tire was to small so I went back to the stock tires and rims for this meet at the badlands. I had sort of decided that I would just stick with them for now. I mean they don't look that weird and they still have alot of tread left and etc.....I convinced myself. So I sold the 33's with the 20's and made 50$ on the deal! heck ya!

Attica had different plans for me, The last run of the day I was climbing a hill at the top had some shelf rocks. I managed to get up and over the rocks but not before I blew the drivers side rear tire out, I pinched the tire on the rim. Its toast, I wasn't the only one in our group to ruin a tire on those rocks. O well.

So I am getting new rims and tires!:kewl: The rims are a custom made 15x10 with a 5" BS(see picture), I've also order some Dick Cepek fun county 32x11.5x15(see picture) and rear tire carrier(see picture). I don't see many people running the fun county's but I feel there a great tire. The rims are going to get painted gray to match the stock wheels or I might paint them green to match the truck. Its undecided at this point. And yes I ordered 5 of them. I have also order a rear tire carrier, the only big ticket item I have left that I want is white knuckle rock sliders. O what the heck I'm ordering them tonight!

Once I have this stuff installed I'll need to look at the trucks stance. Right now its raked a little to much for my liking.

Good call on the wheels.

Isn't that a TAG rear tire carrier?
Yes it is, I got it because they could accommodate the 2" body lift. I was hoping that white knuckle had them but nope. Am I going to be disappointed? They said, 8weeks and I'll have it.

As far as the wheels go, ya I think those are going to ROCK!

I wish White Knuckle made more than sliders. No doubt they'd be awesome.

I've heard some horror stories with TAG. Not so much with the customer service, but with the final product fit and finish.

I would've definitely recommended RLC to you. A great product with great customer service and not too far from you, you could've probably saved on shipping.

Well the white knuckle sliders are on there way along with a CB, 4' firestick and 2 more of those 4" 27watt led lights. I was thinking i would hook them up to my back up lights as a "Safety" feature. Has any one done this?

I hate that everything I order for this truck takes 4-6 weeks to get. I guess I'll work on the back up lights this weekend because I have no parts:tears2:

Check out these bad a@@ light mounts! I'm going to build a front light bar, I've got a peace of alum tube. These mounts will work great for a light bar. O ya check out the rear mount.

I scored this piece of alum. today. Looks like body armor for the X, I'm going to make up skid plates with it.

O yes, its paid for. This is the letter I wrote them today. It kinda looks like I will be spending sometime in small claims court this summer.

I see on your web page you have suspended operations. Are you planning on completing the orders you already have or refunding the money for the orders. Please tell me it’s one of the too. If I don’t hear back from you in 48 hours I will have to assume that you have no intention of doing either. If that’s the case I will be filing a claim against you in the amount of $2,000 here in Indiana.

I hope that you decide to make the product that has already been paid for.

At this point I'd just say ufck it and do a charge back.
