Well, others have done it before RacerXXL. Racer and I did go over many things about the conversion though.

I am broke. When I do get around to making the monies again, I will be doing this mod. I still have my old headlamps too.

There's a guy over tnx that sells kits for these also too for 2nd gens. Heuss I think.

He'll do it for you if you don't want to tackle it yourself but gotta send him spare set of headlights.

yeah my only issue is the same.issue I had with my Mazda with H1 is that with any sharp bump the bulbs kinda 'jiggle" in the housing causing a shutter in the lights but not on 90% of bumps

Yeah, Heus was the first person I know that did the projector retrofit in an Xterra. Didn't know he was doing so for others. If I do, I'll do it myself, I just can't justify the expense on any level right now.

IF ANYONE IS GOING TO DO THIS TALK TO ME I CAN GET YOU A DISCOUNT AND FREE SHIPPING t

what sayest thou?

i am thinking of putting the full size gats in there too. i keep hearing rumors that TRS is going to have the xB angel eyes in a straight bar....which would work perfectly on the 2nd gen lights. that's the only thing keeping me from sealing mine up. they have been laying on my workbench 95% done for weeks.

okay guys because I have a self diagnosed case of OCD with all things to do with my rig I am taking them apart at some point this week and trimming that back piece all the way down to make sure as many threads are sticking out the back as possible and I am jbwelding the projector to the housing to eliminate that as a slice of jiggle. this is driving me nuckin futs

i like the look of xterrors, smaller ones because im going to go all black on the inside and red shrouds. to match the truck. hidplanet best place to get it all? yours do look pretty awesome though so i might actually go that direction.

THERETROFITSOURCE is the best place they are so helpful and if you break any part they will send you just the new part not make you get a whole new kit. I got the bigger ones and they fill the space so perfectly

Anyone else been having issues with the cut off flaps sticking? I shut off the high beams when people pass. But, as of lately the flaps never close and so it never goes to low beam till I hit a bump in the road. Just wondering if it's the piece of crap relay unit they came with or if I need to disassemble the headlight to service the flap. Seems as though the longer the high beams are on the harder they are to turn off.

I havent had trouble with mine sticking. I don't use them very often so that could be the reasoning. A few weeks ago I had some problems with the relay. The on connection went bad so the one light was out. I went to autozone and got a new connection and just spliced it in. Works good no issues since...just a heads up incase anyone else has this issue its an easy fix.

Yeah been thinking it might be the relay unit. Been following the projector builds a while and the relay unit has always had some trouble. I'll likely rewire it with standard automotive relays one of these days. Lot of times only one headlight opens to high beam. But, other days functions just fine.

email TRS after you oil them with a q tip and WD40 if it doesn't solve the problem they should replace
