So as I'm starting to dive deeper into the world of off-roading, I've came to a conclusion that THIS is what I'm wanting to do with my XTERRA. The fact that you're going out into the world with essential items to travel from one place to another is exciting. Ultimately, the fact that you're going into the great unknown.

Check this out; It's a group of guys wanting to travel the Yukon but based out of Bozeman Montana. It's a documented web series on YouTube with great production value. Also, I have no idea how they have this much money to be rocking all this gear. For me, this video was an inspiration and a motivational trigger to get out and explore. Coming from one of my favorite Disney movies of all time, Up; ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE.

I watch it, just watched episode 2 yesterday. I always get briefly inspired to want to do some kind of expedition, then I remember I have no money. I'd love to do that someday though!

Awesome series, been watching them all summer.

Just when I think that they are a bunch of goofs (who take themselves too seriously) with nice trucks, they throw in some humor to tone things down:

Just watched them, pretty good. I would like to see more about them actually being on the trail and less about setting up camp but its pretty good overall. I would love to get into overlanding but I would have to drive 1000 miles to get close to somewhere I could actually attempt it.

Just watched episode 1 looks interesting. I would love to be able to do this stuff. I want to convert my X into more of this and come away from playing in the mud I'm over that stuff.

As previously stated...it comes down to money. Expo trips was my goal when I started modding, this and the other sites have kept me on that path. Slowly but surely the X will be my retirement toy to myself.

I somewhat disagree on it all comes down to money. Yes it takes money to go on such a trip but that doesnt mean you can't take a weekend trip somewhere. Plus if everyone had all the money to deck out with every arb addon then what would be the fun in that. I think it is better to see what someone can accomplish or build on a budget. There is always more creativity and passion on that route.

I want to come up with my version of a expedition X and then take my family on small camping trips and such. Maybe one day when im retired I can do something on a bigger scale but thats forever from now.

I agree. My comment about money was directed at the equipment rather that trip money. Originally I set out to "get" the equipment from the best places... that is until I saw the prices. Building/creating my own has brought me satisfaction and given me the time to relearn my mechanic skills.

Weekend trips with my grandson is my goal, camping, fishing, hunting, shooting etc. The kids (male) that live stickily in the cities these days have no clue how to survive and live off the land. It is unfortunately becoming a lost human trait.

You don't have to gender specify, the girls have forgotten too...remember, it's not just guys that have to know how to survive.

Been a long time follower of the series. I like the recent episodes just wish they wouldn't reflect so much on last season. Though fun it would be far to regulated for me to be part of the crew. I enjoy Overland trips like that and I've had quite a few all it requires is gas in the tank and destination.

Digging this back up, because it's getting better, if you haven't seen episode 5, they actually lock it in 4LO this time.

Of course, I'd liked to have seen more 4x4 driving, but at least it wasn't another episode of "people go camping." Although I do like seeing Alaska even if it isn't all 4x4 stuff.

just watched ep.5. I too was glad to see they finally put it in 4lo! I was about to just stop watching the series as it became kind of boring. Hopefully they keep up with adding more offroad components in each show.

It's not an episode (well sorta), but they climb this Indian trail that takes them 13 hours to do 2 miles! And that's the whole episode. That's pretty intense.

Stoked to watch the newest one.

I feel like it has so much potential especially all the awesome places they go, and seeing the X was awesome but I feel like they spend too much time in slow mo and dealing with obstacles and too little time really exploring everywhere like why didn't a camera go with justin when he was surveying ahead to the swampy area? Instead they just said justin scouted ahead saw a swampy area ahead and this was our turning back point

Didn't he get that from us at Moab? Justin is a very cool dude. Got to wheel poison spider w him. Super nice and knowledgeable

I sent him one back in spring of 2012 and I'm guessing he got one at Moab last year. If I remember it's up on the roof rack

Didn't know there was a thread for this! I just watched the whole series over the last few days. They're awesome. I love the cinematography and the trucks and everything.

Who's in to plan an overland trip like that? ;) THAT'S what my X is going to be built for. Granted, I'll need an extended range gas tank...that 200-250 miles per fill up would get me nowhere fast.

I would love to do something like this... Anyone notice how much the Landcrusier seemed to have problems? I didn't realize how heavy that landcruiser was. I think an X would be a perfect Expo rig.
