Cranberry juice is awesome for the kidneys and bladder, reduce salt (sodium) intake and calcium, and switch the type of proteins from red meats to fish and poultry. Good luck.

And J, nope I've never been through anything like this before. It's a lot of firsts for me actually. My first IV, my first pain meds, my first CT scan. I think it's only the 3rd time I've ever been to the hospital in my life (other than visiting other people). At 40+ years old, I think that's pretty good, lol.
What really sucks is, I'm not allowed to drive anywhere. (not that I want to with this much pain).

Ah kidney stones...got my first one right before finals first semester of law school. Three of them sent me to the ER - those are the ones that come out resembling goatheads. My sympathies, bro. Worst pain ever. And the tennis ball in the garden hose...that sucker is dragging a knife behind it. IV pain meds FTW.
