I was going to install a snorkel at the meet up, something about documented evidence of awakening the Xterra's full, unbridled potential? Not sure if it's true, but I was told that any questions should be directed to you

If you're talking about potential to be super bad arse, then yes...that is true.

So here's my issue - I have what might be a significant oil leak. I won't know for sure until I pull my skid plates. It's not something I want to do at the meet and greet, because when you dump a bunch of oil, etiquette requires you do it on your own damn property...as part of dropping the plates, I'm going to swap out my stock muffler with a flowmaster 44 I took off of Terra. If my welder tells me that needs to happen Saturday, then that's what's going to happen. I'll keep you posted.

If it turns out that your welder guy lets you off the hook on Saturday, we can help you drop your skid and check out the leak. I have ways to catch the oil and we can do it in an inconspicuous spot somewhere on the 100+ feet of asphalt. No big deal if we spill some... your nice clean concrete driveway will be a different story.

Also, don't forget that you're dropping off Hans' skids for delivery the following week.

Damn man, I hope it's nothing too major. Additionally, I really hope you can make it up. It'd be cool to finally meet you and have a second gen that I can check out top to bottom

I'll take the pullup bar. NMTerras, you still coming?

Here's the pullup bar. Its a good one. And if it can hold my weight while doing multiple sets, anyone else should be fine. $10 or a sixxer of some cold, fizzly beverage and its yours.

tell me more about this kegerator...

Kegerator is in great shape and has everything you need to get it going, minus a keg of your choosing, of course. It even has CO2 in the tank. This includes the lines, racks to use it as a regular fridge and one to fit in a pony keg, CO2 tank, cleaning kit and super bad ass tap handle. The tap handle is a piston and connecting rod out of a WRX STI drilled and tapped just for this purpose. You won't find another tap handle like this. $300

You got it Rok. You did see there is a slight blemish on the passenger side one, right? I just want to make sure you know. Do you need the screws? If so, I can scrounge some up.

Definitely sold on the pullup bar. I'm also considering the (2) 75 pounds... I'll let you know by the end of tomorrow

Yup... saw the blemish and no need for screws, I'm sure I can reuse the ones that I have.

Also, you willing to make a deal on both of the harmonicas? No big deal, just curious.

OK well, I guess we don't need to have the meet and greet...I was gassing up today and ran into a sweet expedition-style X, and then some guy comes rolling up from the other pump, and it was Cruecible...small ass world!

Kidding about not having it...see you guys Saturday!

That expedition X was freaking loaded down! I did like that roof rack too. A little taller than what you normally see but seemed to be well thought out.

Hey Rok, on those harmonicas, I'll bring them with me and we can figure out a number when we I get there. I'm not dead set on any of the prices; most of this stuff is just taking up room in the garage and selling them would help fund new leaf springs and shocks for the rear. I go to pick up the X tonight from final fitting of the rear bumper, and I am thinking all that extra weight on the rear might mess with how the rear sits.

Do you guys think we could look at my rear driveshaft situation and see if we can do a quick fix to keep it from scraping that crossmember? It shouldn't take long at all.

I was so excited to see two awesome Xterra's that even being in the work van, I had to go talk to them. Low and behold, NMTerras is being an XN ambassador! I can't wait to fully check out your rig on Saturday

OK guys - so it's almost time! I take it we're going to spend a little time with wrenches...figure out a limiting strap for Cap'n, finish up some steering for Cuecible, I have some steel brake lines to install, but that's not urgent. I got my oil leak addressed (I think) and the new muffler's not going in just yet.

Cap'n - I'm going to have to pass on the kegerator. My wife pointed out, accurately, that I do not need an excuse to drink more beer. Anyone need some miscellaneous gen1 stuff? I have a full size spare (the orginal, so not sure how much I'd trust that ol' BFG), some KYB shocks, stock intake box, stock t bars, rear bumper (the middle part not the end caps). I'll look tonight and see what else

I'll be there. :kewl:

One thing though... it's against my religious beliefs to be awake before 9:30 on my days off. The only exceptions are Christmas Day, the weekend of the Master's Tournament and the week of goneMOAB. How 'bout 10:30 or 11? That will give us a little time in the morning to get things ready (ie. lunch snacks).

Also, I will running Cedro in 2WD (with air locker) if we go that day. I'm waiting 'till after the get together to start the front axle rebuild.

See y'all there.

-Rok

Did you actually get up before 9:30 a.m. at Moab?

I'll try texting Rok as well posting this here, but Cap and I need his address so we can work our way up there. That, or I could just convoy with NMTerras (basing this off of the fact I think you live sorta close to me). I guess if we're offering local sales stuff, I have an iPad 2 (16GB), WiFi and Verizon data capable with a 10ft flat charging cable and a really nice Apple bluetooth keyboard for sale for $260. I don't really have any Xterra stuff since you guys are above the stuff I'd have lol.

rok will text or PM you his addy. Convoy might be a good idea, although Crue, I will tell you that gas station is nowhere near where I live - that was near my office. I live on the far north side of town. Cap'n, are you coming up from Alamo on Saturday am? We can try to meet near tramway and I-40 or the cedar crest exit at I40 depending on which way you come up from the south.

I don't live anywhere near there either lol, I live off Indian School and Wyoming. So if you are far North side, we could meet at one of those places you suggested

I'll get in touch with Cap'n and Crue this evening to give directions. Cap'n... you probably want to take the Mountainair route from your place, it will probably save you about an hour compared to the I-25 route through ABQ.

I usually get up at about 7am. I usually WAKE up when something significant happens:

That drop did more damage than I originally thought. In addition to bending the rad skid, I sheared another bolt on the tcase skid, and rattled a couple more of em loose. Watching those two videos back-to-back shows how my brakes were just not cutting it. I was already in free fall when Rok was still stuck to the wall like a gecko

If you're cool with that, I'd really appreciate it. There is a Walgreens right at the NE corner of Wyoming and Indian School, we can meet there if you want

Also, just watching those videos gave me a bit of pucker. Actually driving would have probably sucked up all the leather off my seat lol. The thuds in both videos sounded no bueno

Counterpoint: a kegerator allows you drink beer more economically as you're buying in bulk ;). Also more environmentally friendly ;)

The mod day was a moderate success overall. Finished off my suspension lift at the cost of not being able to do any trail riding nor digging into anyone else's rigs, which bummed me out a little. Perhaps we can do another one of these before GONE and do a shakedown. Additionally, I decided to club myself like a baby seal with a breaker bar while re-indexing the t-bars. Fun times
