Thanks guys! I still have the way to contact the guy because he told me he guarantees it will work and if it doesn't to bring it back down or call him. If anyone is interested in snatching one of these up I think he said he still has one 8k, 9k's, 10k's, & 12k's left!

Oh and I got the winch plate from harbor freight last night, 39.99. Going to try and find the grade 8 bolts today!!

Went and bought them this morning and they wouldn't fit. So we used some the shop had. But all the bolts are grade 8 and we actually welded the angle iron to my frame horns then bolted the plate to the frame horns and angle iron

Yup its pretty stout! Sometime in the future ill replace the winch line to either better steal cable or synthetic...fair lead rollers are in the process of being bought and now Ill have to repaint my plastics. Got a little saw happy as you can tell in the picture.

Also need to do something about this in the near future!

Lol we actually had to torch cut the end off cause it was to long. Then cut this lip off the frame horns then drill some new holes into the plate. But it was fairly easy!

Excuse the dumb question but even with the universal mounting plate you had to weld angle iron? Is it just for extra strength or a necessity?

Both lol

When you remove all that plastic and get down to the frame horns there is a metal plate that runs across (driver to passenger) and connects the frame horns. We didn't trust that so we unbolted it and tossed it in the trash. We welded angle iron to the sides of the frame horns and ran a bolt thru the winch plate and that little piece. (seen in the pic)
Then welded a bigger piece across the front of the frame horns just like that metal thing was sitting. This gave the winch plate something to sit on and hold it sturdy up front. Then we ran 2 bolts thru the angle iron and into the winch plate.

Excuse my crappy pic the iPhone flash didn't really let the camera focus just now. The left side of the pic is going towards the back of the truck and the right side is the front of the truck.

No part of the plate or winch is welded to my truck so I can remove it all and it would leave the angle iron there acting as that little metal piece we trashed.

The savings for something new has begun (now that I'm employed) hopefully within the next few months I will be listing my truck. Right off the bat is there anyone who would be interested? I think my truck would make a great SAS rig (but I won't be selling it cheap), and id like to sell it to a member who has a use for my winch and stuff like that like...and not have to de-mod it to sell it to a family.

After putting it off an "dealing" with my belt or belts squealing upon start up...I'm finally getting it fixed today. Next is upgraded headlights because I have a low beam filament out an drive with my brights on to avoid a ticket. Lol

Have you used the winch yet (even tested it out)? How did you manage to put it on there without a reinforced bumper or a more sturdy bumper? Have you had problems with it in there like that?

Yeah I've used it about 5-6 times to pull myself out an it works great. There's a full write up on CX of how to do it. I can try to find it when I get back to my laptop. Basically I reinforced the front frame horns with angle iron. Then welded angle iron across the two to connect them. Then welded the winch place to the cross section an frame horns. So it's welded to 3 sections (the 2 reinforced frame horns an the piece of angle iron stretching across connecting the horns) I'll try an find a pic from underneath it all

This is where I apologize for leaving this place for oh I'd say around a year
College, 30-40 hours a week at my job, bills (finally moved into my own place!), application processes for career jobs, an spending countless ours at my volunteer fire department has sucked up ALL of my time here lately. (Off topic but I am finally a Kentucky State Certified Volunteer Firefighter and will have my Hazardous Materials Technician, EMT-B or Emergency Medical Technician, and my 400 hours Kentucky State Certified Industrial Firefighter and my IFSAC firefighter 1 and 2 come next december! WOOT!)
Not much has changed on my truck besides more LED's and the amount of gas it likes to guzzle, well thats always been bad haha
I added a new LED dash light to my original split visor light up front, an now I have 4 strobes in my front corners and rear back up light section of the tail lights.
Heres how she is looking, minus the new LED dash light.

Don't hold me to it but I am going to try an get back into the swing of checking this place more often! :)

It wasn't time for new tires but I landed these puppies for $100 :)
31x10.5's! A step up from my previous 30x9.5 AT's that are in my garage now.
They still have 7/32"s on the tread per the tire people.

Bit the bullet an listed the truck for sale as a "feeler" I listed it way above what I think it'll bring because 1 you never know how much you can get for a car unless you try for every penny lol an 2 I hate getting low ball offers.
