The X turns 1 year old in my hands today!
Sold the jeep this exact day, left school to go to nashville to checkout a 2000 red 4x4 5speed Xterra at a dealership. Called me on the drive down saying it just sold (GRRR) but they had a blue one (my current X). Had to settle for a automatic and 4x2 but all in all its held up to a lot!!
The X has also come quite some ways over the year. Mod wise

I moved the tail pipe tonight away from the tire and put some wire around it and the frame hoping it will hold it away...but nothing can ever go the way you want it too. I heard a pop and some of the JB weld fell off but thank goodness my clamps are there. Im going to run it over the the AG center at the university and have it welded for free.

Ok so my parents don't seem to mind me modding the X or taking it off road so ill keep modding it til they tell me to stop haha. I have went a year with the 30"s and PML and I'm kinda getting tired of it now. Im thinking of doing the BL but don't like how short it makes your shifter and all but I do love the price! Also my tires cost a little over 700 this time last year and I think if I sold them I could get around 500 for them. A set of 32" re-treads runs about 500 for I would spend that much money out of pocket besides shipping. Then I would need to find some 16" rims and a IAB. Besides the IAB and a BL is there anything else I would need to run 32"s? Its sort of a noobie question but oh well. Oh and I know I don't HAVE to have a BL for 32"s but it might look better and I would love there extra clearance.

Aaron, I'm running 32s with a PML with no issues...running on the street is fine. I've done some minor offroading without bottoming out thus far.

...and STAY AWAY FROM 16" WHEELS!!! They will cost you more per tire, plus the cost of the wheels. Stick with the 15s you have now.I got rid of my 16s and bought 15s specifically for cost savings along.

Forget the BL and 16s and just get some 32s man! I think 32s are the perfect size for a PML. If you do a BL, you will need 33s to make it look normal.

Treadwright.com only has these sizes in 15s
235/75/15
30"s
31"s
33"s
The cost difference between the 31/R15s and the 285/75/R16s is only $19 a tire.

Plus the cost of your 16s...

My last comment: think it through before you make long term plans for your X based on one brand of used tires. You can always save up a few more bucks.

Ill keep my eye out on CL first.

I took off the plastics that were messed up from that tree I rubbed and sanded them thinking I would repaint all my plastics tomorrow. Then I realized they aren't that faded so I just threw them back on minus this one piece cause it sorta gives me a better looking stance from the front.

But the dude before me obviously got lazy when he painted them.

Which is at LEAST $80 per set, $100 if you buy a spare. For $100, you could get a set of Soft 8s if you wanted to go steel, or (to cut costs) keep your current alloy 15s.

My advice - check out some local Xers who have gotten rid of their shock wheels if you really want to go to 16s. I got all 4 of mine for free plus two to match my stock set (so yes I have 10 wheels total.... one set of 1.5 gen and a set and a half of 1st gens) Paint them black and you're on your way. You're still young and you don't want to regret making a rash decision now. Just get ONLY what you need and not what you think will look the coolest and put you in debt.

This thursday me and a friend are making the drive to ashland city tennessee to pick up a 8k lbs winch from the same guy xterror04 got his from! Then Ill pick up a universal winch plate and mount it!

Once I have that bad boy installed I will be MUCH more comfortable wheeling my X!

Quick question though... is it ok to keep crossing the creek and stuff once its installed?

I saw where you have a welded write up on CX...im using the one guys bolting write up similar to yours...

150 miles round trip, half a tank of gas, $200 cash, and a guarantee from the guy to fix it if anything goes wrong!
It looks bad now but it just needs to be re-spooled

Headed to harbor freight right now to grab a winch plate then to hardware stores to see if I can find the grade 8 bolts!

Oh and it has all the wires, sylonoid (misspelled :D) and remote!

yea its better to do the bolt on method if you plan on doing an aftermarket bumper. I didn't think I was going to but now I will be picking mine up next week and I have to cut my winch mount off... and it is going to be a PITA!!
