Good question, I don't think I need to turn it on any other times other than when reversing. So simple is probably better for me.

Do you only want the camera to be powered when in reverse? Or all the time so you can do other things with it?

I plugged in my battery charger. Damn silent horn when the panic button is accidentally mashed in my pocket, draining the battery.

Need to invest into a train horn

Then the easy way is to run a wire back to the tail lights when you pull your video wire. Tap that wire into the reverse light hot. Then run a leg to the hot for the camera and connect it to the signal wire on the head unit. That way when you switch to reverse, the camera powers up and and sends the 12v trigger to the radio to go into camera mode.

This is the way I ended up doing my wiring, works perfectly. Thanks

Sprayed some nice chunky mud up the sides on the way home from getting the Christmas tree today...nothing major, just a muddy turnaround spot I pulled into to check the bungees.

So my switch died for my fog lights and here in va if something dont work you aint gonna pass the inspection. So I had to take my lights out. Sigh. So I cut up one of my many street signs to fill the holes in my bumper and my heart.

Stupid VA laws. If you have it, it needs to work.

An inspector here in Louisiana tried to pass that bull**** off on me once when I unknowingly had a fog lamp bulb burnt out. Our laws specify the bare minimum requirements to pass inspection, and fog lamps aren't mentioned. When I called him on it, he backed down and passed me, but was a complete dick about it. I just don't understand that. It's not like he was losing money by passing me or not passing me.

Meh, not a good one. I went too long on a set of pads and started grinding metal. The heat of metal on metal is probably what caused the caliper to seize.

Just a long day thanks to having to stop several times.

Changed the spark plugs and cables. So sounds like there might be a slight misfire.

Also dropped a spark plug socket with a 3" extension somewhere between the engine and fire wall. ....forgot to look for it in the road but i didnt hear it drop or knock out. There are so many parts in my engine bay i could make a full tool kit
