So i looked and couldn't find a thread on this so here it is. It's time to replace my stock mid and tweets, i was wondering what everyone was using in their X's. I'm normally a fan of JL audio and pioneer got jl subs and pioneer deck. But was looking for input and ideas on everyone's replacement speakers for there other noise makers.

What's your price range? If I had the money I would have gone all Boston Acoustics, but I was broke (still am) so I went with pioneer and kenwood. I had a JL Audio 12W6V2 that just beat my brains out, so I traded that.. but I like Alpine, Boston, JL, Infiinity and Pioneer.

Memphis Audio. Affordable, durable, and hit pretty hard, too. Especially if you have a higher output head unit pushing them.

In the pro audio world, I've always been a JBL fan. Haven't had an opportunity to hear their automotive speakers.

I still have the factory Fosgate speakers. I put Memphis Audio in the girlfriend's Civic about a year ago and you'd think she had a sub/amp.

Removing the door panels will probably be the most difficult, but even that isn't really hard. To get to the tweeters in the A post, just pop the whole piece off. It's held in by pressure clips.

The door panel is like 4 screws and I think 6 pressure points along the outer edge. Once they're all popped, just lift it straight up.

I haven't had my hands inside the cargo panels yet, but others here have on several occasions. Luke (xterror04) has for sure.

Another thing- do you have the Fosgate package?

Ah okay. Yeah, I was surprised with them. I want to put a set in my truck, burning have he Fosgate amp and I don't know if they're compatible. I've seen people have issues with compatibility between amp and new speakers.

Anyway, their measurements online are accurate, so you could take the installation template and double check the ailment.

Rockford Fosgate punch speakers sound really good too.

My x is rocking (component up front and coaxle in the back) people always mention how good it sounds. Not too pricey either. A buddy of mine lo\iked the fosgate punchs so well that he done a whole system in his camaro (speakers, amp, and subs,) and man does it hit hard

Depends on your budget and ear. If you can, go to an audio shop and listen to the speaker you intend to buy first. I might recommend a set of speakers that sound fantastic to me, but might be too flat or too tinny to someone else.

That said, I'm going with Focal when I get around to doing my speakers. Except for the sub, which will be a low profile Kicker in the stock subwoofer box under the driver's seat. Focals are fantastic. The only speakers I've liked the sound of better were Morels ($1200/pr, F that!), but Polks are close if you get the high ends.

If you're on a tighter budget, the low end Polks are nice, as are Alpines, Boston and Memphis.
