What is this....

Its really cool, the swap kit alone I think would be close to $8-9k, before the engine. For that much I'd do a VK and an airpump and be the coolest kid on the block

I mean.....its different. Which makes it kind of cool. But it seems like an over complicated way to do a v8 swap.

Bonus points for 3 pedals tho.

I don't know much about engine swaps, let alone an LS swap...but I do know an LS is a apparently a ton of work. whereas a VK swap is more/less plug-n-play with a couple of mild modifications.

And the gains of an LS swap compared to a VK swap......fall short! esp. in the torque range. LOL a whole lotta work & money and not up to part w/ the VK.

I'll stick w/ a VK swap over an LS ;-)

It's as simple as this, the VK swap work so well because the VK already speaks Japanese, just like the Xterra. On the other side, the LS only speaks English. So, you need to teach the LS to speak Japanese before it will play well with the Xterra

The V8 is great but all that work and they couldn't even install some fog lights? The suspension looks original and I see oil all over the exhaust directly under the driveshaft output from the trans. Lot's of engine work but not much else done it looks like.

That said I'm impressed they were able to get all of those components to work together.

These guys at LOJ are really good at what they do, right now they are working on a LS twin turbo 6spd frontier lowered street truck with a titan swap and Armada IRS, gunna be amazing. I highly recommend following them on IG and YouTube, and no I am not compensated for this lol

Vk vs LS.

Yes, the VK may seem to have a slight gain in hp in factory form, but this is where it ends.

You can open up a Summit Racing catalog and find pages of performance parts for an LS engine which include such things as induction, intake manifolds, heads, cams, cranks exhaust manifolds, headers, turbos, superchargers etc etc etc.

You get my drift.

For the VK, you get a page saying you should have swapped an LS. Ok, I'm joking.

It all depends on what your needs and wants are.
However, a VK cannot compare to the hp possibilities of an 6.0 LS without a huge increase in cost spent.

That's a really good point. I'm so used to Nissans I don't even think about that option anymore.
