trouble brewing?

Hi everyone.
I think I have a major problem getting ready to happen.
My X is an auto transmission. While sitting at a traffic light I have a pretty bad vibration. Shift into neutral or park and it's smooth as silk. Going down the road at any speed and the vibration isn't noticeable.
Money is beyond tight right now. I Dread this, but thanks for your input. It is appreciated.

Try a quick drain and fill, it is your cheapest option. What other service have you done on the tranny in the past?

Just bought it last fall. I checked the fluid. It's full and bright. I believe the dealer serviced it. I can tell the pan was wiped clean around the drain plug.
But this same dealer also had 6 quarts of oil in the engine!

You can check the radiator to see if any pinkish is floating around in it then do the by pass asap..
Be sure to add a aftermarket Tranny fan for piece of mind too..

Haven't heard of too many 1st gens with SMOD. I'd start with a full transmission service (flush, fill, and filter), and see what happens. By all means, check the coolant, but I'd be surprised if that was the issue.

The coolant is clean. The ATF is clean and red. I crawled under it again and the dealer did change the filter. (I'm assuming.) You can tell where the pan was wiped down. What's the capacity if I am able to do a filter/ fluid change first?

On second thought, maybe I'll take it to a reliable shop to do a flush n fill.
