transmision temp monitoring gauge

does anybody know the difficultie level on installing a temp sensor into the transmision to help monitor so I don't over heat the thing while towing

I am most likely getting stationed to Gagetown New Brunswick (Canada) this summer and will be driving across the country while hauling my RV. was wanting to find a quick way to monitor the temps while I am driving


I have done some searching and reading on the subject but would like other people's experiance and opinions

Hard part is running the wires. There is a test port on the tranny you plug the sensor into. Run the wires into the cab and hook up your monitor.

There may also be a line you can monitor on the obd port with a scan gauge or something.

the bullydog monitors the transmission temps so no need to hard wire anything

I am already running the superchip cortex, not really looking to buy a bully dog unless I can unload the Superchip unfortunately

I'd love to see a "How to" written up on this if you install it. I've been wanting to do the same and haven't had a burning need, so it kept getting put off.

I believe Ultragauge will display a trans temp if it gets it from the OBDII port. I am just not sure how to get the signal into Ultragauge.
