Went wheeling a few days ago, and got a little rugged. Now that I cleaned the body, there's grass, weeds, and mud stuck under. Leaving it under will contribute to rust, correct? How long should I wait? I want to get it off but waiting for a semi warm day which should be later this week.

And the big question, any tips on how to remove grass in the undercarriage? My X look like a wooly mammoth.

It wont rust anymore than having rain water splash on the under carrage.

To remove it, use a hose and spray nozzle or take it to a drive through car wash or a bay car wash and use the power washer. Idk its basic vehicle washing.

if the mud and other stuff is too caked on you can also use a sprinkler for a little bit to slowly soak the mud and other stuff to loosen it up

I have one of the sprinklers that moves side to side that I use. I just throw it under the truck starting at the front and pull it back a couple of feet every 15 or 20 minutes. after about an hour I hit it with my pressure washer and the mud will pretty much just fall off with about 10 minutes work.

pressure washer does a pretty good job. you will never get all of it out of the undercarriage though. I have stuff in there from 2 years ago still.

At my local car wash, they have a selection on the dial of the soap, water, wax, etc. that is called engine/tire cleaner. It comes out in a green color and it will eat the dirt away. It will also eat any kind of wax or rainx you may have your X but it cuts the mud wonderfully. It'll also do its designed job and clean the tires really well. It'll completely get it back to black (and white if you have the white lettering on the outside).

Not sure how much help this is as I don't know if you have one like this near you.. But if you do, it'll hook you up! :bmmd:

For grass and weeds the only way that works is going under there and pulling it out. You can try to use a pressure washer but to be honest. If the field has high enough grass where its going to get caught on my undercarriage I usually don't drive there because I can't tell what the terrain is like and have gotten myself in trouble in the past with situations like this. Like when I hit a 6" steel pipe sticking up on a snowmobile first snow fall due to tall grass sticking up or when I did not realize a 2' hole exsisted in my dads jeep.
